Spending time in the Charleston area with family has allowed me to find more of the local gems like the Crab Shack. We chose the Coosaw Creek location on Dorchester Rd. We were not disappointed. Our server was very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. The food arrived in short order, beginning with the Crab Ball with roumalade appetizer. We decided to give this restaurant a try because it was further out of town and traffic was SO bad, we couldn’t get back into town if we tried. We walked in at about 4:15pm and we’re seated immediately! Our dinner didn’t take too long to prepare, and when we got our meal, we were so excited! I ordered the seafood scampi and it was my favorite meal during our entire trip!! He ordered a crab cake sandwich, I believe. It was HEAVENLY!! Our waitress was very friendly! We split the pecan pie with butter pecan ice cream and it was very, very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Charleston!
I really try to like this place. Second visit, second bad experience. Ordered takeout both times, both times rude service, different bartenders. I had really hoped that the food would make up for it, but it didn't. That she crab soup was thick, lumpy and sweet, tasting and barely any crab. Seriously, sweet crab soup? Gross. Shrimp and scallop pasta flavorless, crab balls were decent, but mostly filler and not much crab. Decent… Not good. Honestly, I would say skip it. If you're looking for good food in Charleston, there are so many other places to choose from don't waste your time at this one.
The service was great. The oysters on the half shell were the freshest I've ever eaten. I got the snow crab and shrimp bowl. Shrimp were huge and very very good. The snow crab was ok. They just needed a little more seasoning but that's a personal preference) The only thing that slightly bothered me was the look of the inside worn and out dated) and the table was a little sticky. But I'm being picky. Would I recommend the place and or eat there again absolutely.

Our waitress was very good. She actually took care of another table that wasn't one of hers before she took care of us. But she was very kind and got our food very quickly. The food was delicious and had good portion sizes. We even got three extra oysters to replace one that was questionable! We also got to meet on of the owners and she was very nice. Very good experience.
I absolutely adored this place. My brother suggested dinner there and I'm glad we did. We loved the bucket idea in the middle of the table. It wasn't so messy eating crab legs. The staff were very polite and friendly and the food was amazing! It wasn't very busy for a Sunday afternoon and it was perfect!
Excellent customer service, Jennie served us very well. She was courteous and patient. We were a large group, but she got us happily seated and started our order. She kept our glasses full and always smiling. Flounder is huge! We enjoyed ourselves greatly. Thanks Jennie
I love this place! Not much I like here cause I don't care for most seafood, but fried green tomatoes are good, the hush puppies are good, and the burger is good. I love the atmosphere and the smell.

Amazing food and service. We ordered the raw oysters, mussels and hot crab and artichoke dip (which was the highlight! We had Kelsey as a server and she was awesome! Can't wait to go back!
Visiting family and decided to try The Crab Shack for lunch...delicious! We had raw oysters on the half shell and the steamed crab and shrimp buckets...highly recommend!
