We had a fabulous evening meal at Corse Lawn restaurant. The actual room could do with a bit of a make over. Most of the pairings were crooked and there were cobwebs on the wall light shades but it sort of added to the quirkiness of it. Can’t fault the food it was really excellent. The wine list was quite extensive but not so that you couldn’t get through it. Can highly recommend. The hotel is owned by the Hine (cognac) family which is why the wine list is excellent. The bar has plenty of choice and we sat in the lounge area for our coffee and petit fours (homemade).
We took my 96 year old mother for a Sunday lunch as the hotel has charm and there is easy access. The staff were all very pleasant and the meal was good but let down was the side dish of roast potatoes which were obviously cooked earlier in the morning and warmed up. They did not go with Salmon which my mother chose and were virtually inedible. Apart from that we enjoyed our visit but would hesitate a further Sunday lunch until the warmed up potatoes are removed from the menu.
Not quite what we expected. Simple food reasonably well cooked but the ambience was firmly fixed in the 1980s. Pleasant young staff but not very interested, no name or origin of house wine offered or provided. It was an 'eat and run ' experience with nothing tempting a longer meal or after dinner drinks.
Had a really good meal in the Bistro and it cannot be faulted. It is really well presented and delicious. Spoilt slightly by the presence of young children. Premises could do with a lighting/decoration makeover to improve the ambience.

We stayed only one night but the service was excellent, thoughtful and unobtrusive. The food was superb as was the coffee in the lounge subsequently. Friendly and professional staff and delightful surroundings.
I love the ambience at Corse Lawn, no loud music, no mobile phones. Good food, not over facing, courteous staff. Real country house feel
Disappointed with service- it lacked the personal touch in every way Staff more interested in chatting with each other
The tables are not too close and there are plenty of soft furnishings so that made my hearing problem much less

An excellent evening was had by all. Food was wonderful and staff excellent. Made to feel very welcome.
An enjoyable venue for proper sunday lunch (was not looking for yet another sunday carvery)
