I had an encounter with a very rude and mannerless barista, Harry, a couple of months back where he refused to listen to me when I asked for skimmed milk in my coffee and shouted at me to move back when I was nowhere near him and had my mask on. I informed Ollie who dealt with it at the time. However, recently I had another encounter with the same barista who when I asked if he was going to make my coffee properly he said “NO”. This is an example of disgusting customer service. This is the second time here in the past month. The first time my latte tasted only of milk. I complained and they made another which was slightly better. On this visit I waited 15 minutes but the same result. They said they would make another but after yet another 7 minutes I demanded a refund. Is this a way of cutting costs by using cheap of less coffee? The barista was alone whilst the queue built up and his colleague just shuffled a long queue of paper orders when she could have been helping. Do yourself a favour and walk 50 yards to coffee Republic. The coffee and service is much better and the price is a lot less.
If you come by yourself you have no hope of sitting down. I’ve been coming here for years with no problems. But COVID must have affected their brain! As I’m by myself I normally put a bag on an empty seat and wait in the queue but today I was told I’m not allowed to! So if you come in twos you are ok as one of you can sit whilst the other one waits in the queue but solo people forget it! Ollie the manager was also very condescending! Costa should send some of their staff on customer service course. I went to Cafe Nero and no such problems exist! So in future Cafe Nero it is!
Visited at about 3pm and the que was out of the door. The staff were friendly and efficient dealing with orders quickly. Every seat was taken so it seems this is the place to visit for a quick bit of coffee and cake. Located conveniently at the top of a set of stairs this is our half way stop on our shopping trip after completing the ground floor. Lifts and toilets are also located nearby.

I made a pit stop here with a friend. This branch is always very busy. The décor and set up is rather like a school dinner hall. Although our drinks were made quickly there was no semi skimmed milk available which alters the taste of your drink. Our tea was rather stewed and strong. I do love a Costa but much prefer another local branch with a more homely feel.
Around three people serving, however, the queue was huge and they people serving were just chatting and so slow serving. Also, the vegan smoked 'ham ' sandwich was tastless... don 't bother. And why do they not serve coffee in proper cups anymore? Only paper ones. Yet they ask if I 'm eating in?!
Great place to grab a drink for the journey home. Costa is busy wherever you go, but the girls on shift during my visit had a great routine going. Hot cold drinks were ordered along with cakes and all arrived successfully. Slight weight, but not an issue.
Quite empty and still the staff took ages to make the coffee which was not warm enough and provided without any attention, smile or care.

Very crowded but did get a table. Staff seemed organized in serving with plenty of counter staff. Great coffee.
I was served by a lovely young man called James he was fast and efficient and delivered a lovely vanilla latte
