Where should I start? we arrived at 20:30 a.m. for our birthday party booking, but we were asked to wait outside until 8:45 a.m. Unfortunately, the surprise balloons we had thrown down earlier were left out of the entrance so much for a surprise. we're leaving. to order drinks when the bottle of wine arrived, it was a bottle of white wine instead of red. When asked, the server then brought 2 bottles, no menu and asked us what we wanted, but could not tell us how much of them cost. we were also told we could get only 4 beer varieties, although all the tables around us have different ones that are offered to them. I have just returned from a visit to samoen and felt I had to write a review on this amazing place . Thank you so much to the owners Shane and john for giving us such a warm welcome . Also i have to thank...the hard working staff Leanne, Sophie Ben and Lisa who helped make our trip more enjoyable (hope I have not left anyone out) . We went to coveys most nights the Craic was always mighty and we met some amazing people . On the last night we were a bit hungry and decided to try some of their food and I must admit we were not disappointed as their burgers were delicious and their chicken wings to die for . Myself in a group of 8 friends age 30 stayed a 20 minute walk away from the bar. We were able to watch the midweek football. Lots of drinks to choose from although they are a bit pricey but so is most places in the...area. We had a burger one night which was lovely. We visited 3 of the 5 nights we were there. Only downside is a few of the boys behind the bar have a chip on their shoulder but nothing to worry about. Try the Irish car bomb shot. Would recommend for ages 20-40 as there isn 't many other options if you want a good p**s up
I and my friend went out for a well overdue night and without hesitation we chose coveys for our Friday dinner! we were so excited to try and were not disappointed. eating was amazing, but the evening was made even better by the...amazing service. sophie served our table and could not have been more attentive. Make sure our food was perfect and our glasses was kept full! Not to mention how friendly she was for all the time we were there! we will return alone for the service and cannot wait for our next visit!

Spent a few days based in Samoens and visited Coveys frequently! The owners Shane Bunty run a fantastic pub supported by the excellent bar staff especially L1 and L2! We ate the famous burgers one night which were excellent and the Guinness is really...good! Watch out for those shots though have a habit of creeping up on you! Hope to return one day!

Its very hard to eat out in Samoens if you haven't booked but this little pub does great burgers . The choice is not large but the food is good . The staff and friendly and the service is quick. The cocktail menu is not...bad either.
Just on the outskirts of Samoens village (3-5 min walk) serving local and imported beers including Guiness, showing main sporting events and serving snacks and their double fried chips are the best!!
