I've visited this restaurant several times in the past, but it's been a few years since my last trip. The place was bustling, almost like a mosh pit, but we didn't wait too long for a table. We started with the cheese curds, which were very good, although they were warm rather than hot, and the pieces were a bit small. I ordered the fish fry, which came with two pieces of broiled fish, coleslaw, and a baked potato. While the fish could have used more seasoning, it was still quite good and a fantastic value at $7.99. The coleslaw was just to my liking, and the baked potato was a nice size and cooked perfectly. Crabby Dave 's? No one crabby here! This is really a friendly place that made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. This obviously is a local hang out because everyone in the place knew each other (except me! . Didn 't take long and I was part of multiple conversations with the locals. I ate at the bar (there is a dinning area too . The bar is U shaped so everybody in the place is looking at each other..wonder if John Taffer (Bar Rescue ever thought of this great idea to promote conversation? A+ for friendliness. The service used to be amazing when my wife and I came in on Thursday nights. Always free entertainment between the server and bartendar. Serving amazing old fashions, obviously way over poured, and semi adequate food. We didn't return for the food but for the faces. Was in recently with a new face. No atmosphere. It completely left. Not sure what happened but we will return one last thurs to see if it has changed. The food is easily made or even store bought. Hopefully the management fixes this otherwise, in my opinion, it will be an epic fail.
On a positive note, the cheese curds, French onion soup, old-fashioned cocktail, BBQ sauce on the burger, and spinach and artichoke dip were all exceptional. However, the burgers had burnt exteriors that tasted like they came from a poorly cleaned grill, leaving a terrible burnt aftertaste. Also, the French fries were bland and tasteless—definitely skip those!
Overall, I found the experience just okay, and I likely won't return unless I'm just looking to order appetizers and drinks.

The burger was perfectly cooked, featuring crispy edges and a juicy pink center. I opted for the jalapeno cheddar burger, which came on a nicely toasted bun accompanied by crispy onion rings and a slightly spicy sauce. Instead of fries, which were of the frozen variety, I chose a salad—definitely a good decision!
Don’t let the somewhat drab exterior deter you; this place is truly worth a visit!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. The staff, the food, and the old fashioneds are all fantastic. I've never tried anything on the menu that wasn't great. A few of my favorites include the French onion soup, cream of Reuben soup, and the fish fry.
I've visited this restaurant a couple of times over the past year, and while the drinks are pretty good, the food and service are just average. If you're looking for a burger and fries, this is the right spot for you.
The service was excellent! The food was delicious, but I've noticed that the portions of fish have been getting smaller. If I had known this, I would have chosen a different dish. Overall, it was a good dinner.

Crabby Dave's is closed for business. A new restaurant has taken its place, Fluer De Lis Cafe Lounge. They serve Southern/Cajun style food.
