We were traveling along I-75 in the Knoxville, TN area. It was getting late but we pulled in and entered the Cracker Barrel between 8:45-8:50pm. I realize that 's just a few minutes before closing but still within operation hours. The hostess was actually rude to us and said we 're closing. My Wife replied but you 're still open, it 's not 9pm. She said we 're not seating anyone else. I looked in the dining area and saw a couple that was looking at the menu at that time setting at their table. I said I see 5 or 6 tables that are clean, I want to talk to the manager. There were people standing behind us and we told them what was going on and they said if they 're closed, they should lock the...
Absolute worst experience. Lemon pepper trout was more like beef jerky. Had 4 tablespoons of seasoning on it. This does NOT help when things are overcooked. There were 5 carrots thrown in the plate which we cold and unseasoned. Service was slow and we had to go get condiments off of vacated tables. Dining area was full of uncleared tables and they were packing everyone in the same area. Cracker Barrel was a consistent, tasty restaurant in the past. That is not the case now. Will NOT be back.
We always have good service when we eat at one of our favorite places to eat.However this time it took us about 10 minutes to be seated ,not only us but several older people had to wait to be seated also. It was not busy but the host had to be called to the host stand for us then they disappeared yet again for the rest of the people they had to wait longer. The service our waiter gave us was great. My take on this is keep a host at the host stand and the business will remain great.
Nicest thing is the food doesn't talk back to me after I eat it! Where else can you order baby carrots for a side dish? Get blueberry pancakes whenever you want? Cracker Barrel keeps it's menu unique and isn't overloaded with chemicals, aka talking back. The store has pretty clothes and fun, homey decor. Placed online order that was supposed to be ready for pickup at 8:16pm. Checked in and waited until 8:40 before food was brought out. Tried to call store but calls went to voicemail. Went in to try to pickup food and was told that online times were not correct. Food was cold by the time it was brought out. Roast beef was mainly fat.
Waited over 45 minutes for our meal, which was served cold. Had to ask several times for drink refills, our bread, silverware, etc. Would not recommend this CB.
Service slow, food was cold. Past few times, the food has been cold. French toast was so cold, the butter would not melt
