I came here for the sole purpose of getting my blackened farm-raised catfish on. Our waitress, Karin, dropped the hammer on me in an absolute gut-punch. Even after explaining that the Catfish on their menu was the glue was once held this nation together, she was unwavering. I settled for the Fried Fish special, but feel the Cod will come up just short of that catfish. The bright shining moment was seeing the loaded hash brown casserole staring back at me from the menu. Left so much on my plate, I'm an egg-no-ra-moose...
This restaurant can be a bit inconsistent. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was tasty, and the sides were served piping hot. The fried pickles, however, were overly greasy and needed to be blotted with a napkin, but once I did that, they tasted quite good. The server and host were friendly, although the woman who processed our payment seemed a bit annoyed. Overall, it was a decent experience for a Monday afternoon, though there's definitely room for improvement.
I had a negative experience at the State College location where I wasn't attended to at all, so I decided to try this location while traveling west. The staff here were incredibly kind and friendly. The food was delicious and served quickly. The retail employees were fantastic too. I recommend skipping the State College location and heading to Altoona instead!
I had my first experience at Cracker Barrel and was pleasantly surprised! They serve a generous portion of food at prices that are surprisingly low. With a wide variety of sides and entrees to choose from, you'll want to sample everything! The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can even browse the gift shop after your meal! I'm glad to see this place back on track. The food was back up to the high quality and standards one would expect here, the dining room was very clean, and the staff was all very friendly and courteous, as usual. John and Missy took excellent care of us at our table. Looking forward to the next visit!
I had a fantastic meal; everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The only problem was that the labels on the containers were mixed up—the medium doneness was labeled for the well-done steak and vice versa. Aside from that, it was absolutely perfect! Keep up the excellent work!
Food and service is what you would expect of Cracker Barrel restaurant. Pancakes are delicious with the warmed maple syrup. This was my first time ordering the Beignets and they were a sweet appetizer, I suggest ordering when you visit. Nice and cleanrestrooms as well.

The food was fantastic! My picky toddler actually found something they enjoyed! The Homestyle Grilled Chicken Salad is massive.
