I recently visited a fantastic old-school hot dog truck stand in Yonkers on Midland Avenue that serves delicious, messy chili dogs and flavorful, soggy fries. The long line of patrons waiting for their hot dogs was a clear sign that these dogs must be exceptional. I tried one chili dog, one with onions, and ordered a side of fries that I knew I couldn't finish—if I did, my waistline would surely expand by an inch! I was glad to have brought my mini cooler stocked with caffeine-free Diet Pepsi, as it’s tough not to get thirsty while enjoying these hot dogs. So we received a suggestion from a local for a good spot for a hotdog note to self: librarian may not be best advisor on food options. Should have been suspicious. Noon on Saturday and completely empty. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist but we had been given personal advice. How bad could it be? While waiting on a couple of dogs, read TripAdvisor comments. Although not recent seemed to have the place pegged. Same surly owner/proprietor and weird rules about taking ketchup to table. Couple of bites and thought let’s go somewhere else. Tossed the hotdogs and found a better option for lunch.
I first started visiting this place when I was in my late teens, and now, at 34, I couldn’t be happier to return. I used to go there frequently because the food was so fresh, delicious, and served quickly. After about a decade away, I stopped by recently, and taking a bite of their hot dogs instantly transported me back to my childhood. Everything is just as I remembered. Coupled with Mark's wonderful personality, it’s a winning combination. I hope he stays around so that my kids can enjoy the same fantastic food when they grow up!
Mark is the the Man! Best dogs in Yonkers, and the best customer service anywhere! We come all the way from the other side of Yonkers near the Metro North just for him, and his dogs. I get a chili dog with mustard while I wait, and 2 sausage dogs for when I get back. He's inspired me to get my own hot dog cart to open business on my side of town, but I'll still be back for his!

Best Sabretts around have the perfect snap. I have known Mark many years. The chili is awesome also. Stop by you wont be disappointed. He also has Sabrett sausages.
It's a Hot Stand. In Yonkers. Great Sabrette hot dogs and his red onion sauce is the perfect companion topping.
