This was one of those: let 's see what 's in the area and has good reviews kind of stop. The place looked promising; we all love tacos; found street parking pretty much outside as if it was all meant to be! The stars aligned!! Walked in, and I 'm thinking: ok, I dig this. A little bit punky, grungy, definitely dive y. The current tune was some death metal stuff loud, but perhaps the next tune will be a tad more down to earth. All booths are taken. Love this place! Totally casual with great tunes and odd shows and/or movies on the TV. Nat is a great bartender who's ready to lend an ear and makes great cocktails! The Fairlane is my favorite with pineapple. My husband always gets a skinny. Great specials like the picture of the Queso Mac n cheese. Their wings and chicken sandwiches are to die for, and they typically have food specials starting at 5 PM every night. This restaurant is so popular that we just had to check it out. Typically, you can expect a long wait, especially in the winter when outdoor seating isn't available. Thankfully, we were able to sit outside, which was delightful. The staff was very efficient. We ordered a burrito and a bowl, and let me tell you, the burrito was enormous—definitely enough for two meals! The same goes for the bowl. While they offer a variety of meat and vegetable options, the menu mainly includes burritos, tacos, bowls, and sides. We also tried the margaritas, and they were decent. If only this place was in every city... we got lucky enough to go on $1 taco night! Now the marg pitcher was more expensive and you do pay for chips and salsa (more of a chunky tomato) the tacos are fabulous! Its like an old dive bar but with hip music! We got to sit outside and the wait was not bad at all i think they told us 45 minutes and it ended up being 10. The staff are super kind and attentive. I got the mushroom and carnitas taco. These were amazing! If you are a vegetarian get the mushroom!! Sooooo good. My husband and friend got 8 tacos each since they arent too big they were able to finish them all... cant say one was better than the other. This place is worth every $1 spent!! Came here on a Friday afternoon during the summer for some food and drinks. The bar has really upbeat and entertaining bartenders and a few patrons ready to start their weekend. The space was energizing. Upon entering it was dimly lit as any traditional bar ambiance. We sat at the bar and ordered traditional margaritas. They were tasty, if I remembered correctly they offered cool flavors as well, so my second drink was a fruit flavor. Ordered some tacos which were okay and with that I also started my weekend off right and absorbed the energized vibe from this establishment.
Unfortunately, the nachos were a bit disappointing. They did the trick, but I’ve had better elsewhere. There might have been too much cheese, which didn't melt as well as I expected. We added pollo tinga as a protein, and it was well-seasoned and flavorful. If I had enjoyed the pollo tinga with something other than nachos, it would have made for a fantastic meal. For drinks, we ordered a margarita since it was happy hour, and it was quite nice. It definitely had enough alcohol but was still smooth to drink.
I had my first visit to this charming little spot in the neighborhood, and the outdoor seating is perfect for summer days! The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and offered a lot for the price. I finished off my meal with the Tres Leches dessert, which was also delicious. Overall, it's a fantastic place, and I look forward to returning for their drink menu!
Incredible food and fantastic atmosphere! Every item on the menu is definitely worth tasting! I particularly loved the nachos, tacos, and desserts! Dined in at Loco Pez with my friend, and we decided to eat at the bar. The staff were attentive and cool. Ordered a margarita and shared nachos with queso, which I liked. For my main, had the camarones (fried shrimp) tacos, which I thought were good.
