It's lovely but very small. It's more like a stop on the way to somewhere else. On a lovely warm day you could take a picnic I suppose but children would be very bored. Don't bother with the Easter hunt. Took us less than 20 mins to find 10 eggs and for £4 per child got the smallest piece of chocolate.
The ambiance is great, though the venue is somewhat small and primarily located behind security fencing. The nearby café is fantastic, and the shops in the courtyard are quite fascinating. I visited on a weekend, and there was no wait. Reservations are not necessary.
There is a fantastic farmers market held here on the first Saturday of every month. While we explored the ruins, we primarily came for the market. The produce may not be the cheapest, but the quality is excellent, and there's a wide variety of stalls to choose from.

If it weren't for the Reformation, Norfolk would boast some truly magnificent medieval churches. It's disheartening to see this abbey, once a hospital, in ruins, yet it serves as a testament to the skill of its builders that some parts still stand today.
I appreciate a good historical ambiance, and I love a nice ruin! The parking is convenient, and there are a few charming shops and facilities nearby. I visited on a weekday, and there was no wait for a table. Reservations are not necessary.
There isn't a lot to offer at the restaurant itself, but the scenery is beautiful, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the surrounding area.

Lovely for a stop over. Beautiful ruins. Shame the cafe nearby was closed during Easter holidays.
