This place has vastly improved under the more recent management the forever cheerful Gail and the rather dour Charlie (well he carries the burden of being Scottish). It's one of those delightful old English pubs that resists video screens and games machines. A log fire and lots of crannies to sneak into to enjoy the food. (Hint: Always try the specials). we are visitors of the area for the weekend and the crawl and anchor recommended by the previous owners of our accommodation, as well as the owners. a nice village pub with a friendly reception from the owner and employees alike. a tad disappointed that a few things were not available on the menu, although we had a 7:30 seat, but far away from eating disappointed. fresh, very beautifully presented dishes, with some local products that are always well to hear.
Walked over to sample a pint of Batty Bach. Perfect pint. Lovely garden. Dog friendly. We're planning to return with our son on Saturday and have lunch. The menu looks fabulous. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Very good food and nice service. We just stayed the night nearby and they didnt have any food so we walked here. We were happy suprised. We will return tomorrow before we travel back to Sweden.

delicious Sunday roast in a real old fashion pub. such a warm atmosphere that we could have there all day! not too expensive and exceptional quality. will definitely be visited again.
