I have always loved Cucina but I went the other night with my husband and was really disappointed. First off the food was lovely I had no issues there at all. The maitre de was the issue for us, he barely spoke to us and when he did there was no smile, nothing to make you feel welcome and yet he was friendly with other tables. We ordered the wine and he just took the menus no acknowledgment and the same when it came to ordering the food. We booked last minute for an early evening meal. The restaurant stated they were busy later in the evening. Greeted warmly, seated next to the doorway which tuned out to be their biggest fault. Our table service was excellent and the food was very nice, tasty well cooked. There was one other table in use while we were there, they left by the time our food arrived. 2 more sets of customers arrived during our meal and another group of 6, as we were leaving 1.5hrs later. Cancelled my table. I was reading the menu outside of the restaurant, then went in at the end of the lunch service to enquire about a potential table for me and my partner that evening. The maitre de looked at me like I was a monster, and didn’t even answer me when I spoke to him to enquire… a friendly member of staff then took over and booked us in. Nice welcome from the staff. Drinks arrived quickly whilst we looked through extensive menus. We chose a la carte as it was to celebrate my hubbys birthday. Good choice on fixed price lunch menu tho . We had arancini, burrata to start. Both delicious. Both had crab crayfish pasta, also delicious. All good portions. Francesco and his team were great. Just the right level of attention and service. Comfortable restaurant and very festive atmosphere at most which was lovely. It’s our favourite Italian restaurant, lucky us having on our doorstep. All Italians staff. Homemade pasta and fresh food seafood. Definitely recommend and return. Thank you guys appreciate your attention to detail.
Best Italian in Essex! Arrived a little early, but was welcomed with a strong smile and asked what drink we would like whilst wait for our table. Great atmosphere and good banter with the waiters. The food and service is exceptional. (I cook a lot at home and love good food There are Italian restaurants who claim they are best with 5 stars, but please don’t believe all what you read. Have visited a lot of restaurants and have not reviewed as found poor service or quality of food not good. Cucina has restored my faith in eating out. We regularly visit Cucina and have always enjoyed the friendly welcome, the excellent food and the faultless friendly service. It was my nieces 13th birthday between Christmas and the new year and we wanted to surprise her with an evening out. The food and the service from the team at Cucina was, as always, awesome. Thank you for her birthday song and making it a special evening that she absolutely loved.
We called in for lunch whilst in Leigh Broadway. This is how Italian restaurants should be. The food was WONDERFUL as was the service. We are not locals but would 100% go back. Stop by if you get the chance you won't be disappointed

Brilliant food and service. Our server was wonderful! I had the carbonara and it was delightful. The wine that we wanted was not in the restaurant so a server walked down to their sister-bar to get it for us. Big shoutout to her!
Our 5th time at this restaurant now and every trip has been excellent for all our guests. This restaurant has very quickly risen to be our favourite and have already booked up again for a Valentines treat.
