We went before the CP Christmas Train pulled into town and expected it to be packed. It was very quiet and I hope during the day it is busier as it deserves to be. We were greeted immediately and seated at a table with a...Peruvian covering. I had a couple of Pisco Sours during the meal...delicious! My guest had the Pollo a la Brasa....a quarter chicken dinner, which she devoured quite nicely. I had the Seco de Cordero...lamb shank with yucca strips and vegies.. Went with a group of people made a reservation in advance. We were the only ones there so got some special treatment!! On the door it said to make a reservation before coming. The whole table got different meals. Everyone said they enjoyed...it. We had allergies at the table (shellfish and garlic) and they were super accommodating. For the garlic allergy, they made a special stew just for him which also tasted flavourful. Food suggestion: The pollo empanadas were meant to be the best. Lamb shank cooked perfectly. When you enter this establishment don't expect to find a regular small, intimate restaurant. This is the domain of a very talented chef and your focus should be his delightful creations. Every dish that comes out of his kitchen is artistically presented for you to...discover its tasty texture. The quality of drinks is matching the food, Pisco sours, wine and beer to your liking. If you want a relaxing touch, come and enjoy the music on the last Fridays of the month. Otherwise be prepared for a serious and intense culinary experience that will leave you completely satisfied.
extremely friendly waiter did not compensate for the food. Lomo Saltado was tasty but had a very small portion or rice and the fries were soggy. The fries are supposed to be cripy on top or on the side. The empanada was fried instead of...baked. Peruvian empanadas are supposed to be baked Very few item in the menu( only or I read a review saying Culantro was better that El Inka in Burlington, so I drove all the way from Vaughan. After driving past this restaurant for many years, we finally decided to make a visit. What a good choice. The service was excellent, our waiter was very informed, the menu offered many choices, and the drinks were well-priced. We had the lamb and the flank...steak, both were very tender and extremely tasty. The yukka fries, that came with my meal were a delight. The decor of the restaurant is simple, but very clean and inviting. The prices were moderate, even including the tip. I would recommend this tasty find wholeheartedly.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and enjoyed by everyone in our diners group. From the Seco de Cordero with yucca fries to the Peruvian potatoes and beef stake, it was all very tasty. The place has a great vibe and live Latin music...was provided by Cassava. The service was excellent and our waiter explained all the different dishes well.
Had a reservation for lunch and was blown away by the flavours in the dishes for what they referred to as seafood week They have lots of choices and usually a seasonal option. I started with lovely mussels and then finished it off with a...lovely shrimp pasta. True farm to table experience. A Peruvian staycation.
