When needing to find somewhere to eat in Springvale the other day I did a search on TripAdvisor and saw the recommendations for Cultural Commons so gave it a try. The first thing to note is that parking in this area can be difficult. We ended up in a multistory car park that was very congested and difficult to navigate; but at least it left us within walking distance of the restaurant. Following the suggestions of other diners and after reading through the menu, I tried the American dream and the nutella milkshake - both delicious! Sneakers – we stopped by Cultural Commons for some takeaway not long before closing on a Saturday night. I got the OG Burger with the seasoned chips and aioli. The burger was tasty and generous in size however the mayonnaise could have packed a little more flavour. The seasoned chips were delicious though possibly a touch over-seasoned. The aioli that came with it was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. We came here to try as we have always passed by this restaurant. It is huge, airy with nice decorations. Main dish was the burger, which looks interestingly delicious. However, we were only there for a drink and I decided to order something to nibble. Saw the fried chicken on the menu under Starters. It was the best decision. Not only is the fried chicken crunchy, it has the right amount of flavor and spiciness. The serving staff is friendly and courteous. This place looks more appealing with young adults. Will definitely come here again, to try the burgers next time.
The burgers are amazing. The down side was the basket of chips on the side. They were sliced so thinly that there was little to no potato on the inside and so were more like a strip of pork crackling than a potato chip. Tasty burgers, crunchy chips, attentive but not pushy staff. Visit Cultural Commons for a good, casual meal at a reasonable price. A group of five, we had a selection of the burgers and everyone was happy. My Pulled Pork burger was sublime - plenty of meat, chili and a slaw salad. The chips were amazing, crisp and tasty. Keep this place on your list.
Decided to try out there fish burger n man it was the worse fish burger ever!! The bun was over toasted n fish was watery batter was dried up n hard to bute into the only thing that was nice was the chips. Very dissatisfied.
The fisherman's basket and an entree trio of dips was quite enough for two people! Great service, and awesome atmosphere, the music was just at the right level to be able to talk quietly.
