Tried this spot because of the reviews and I’ll try almost anything once. Well first there was no BBQ any where in the place, second the food that was in the buffet tables was old and mushy the greens beans had sugar in them it tasted that way, the greens were from a can, the gravy from a jar, the sausage and peppers was COLD, the BBQ meatballs looked old they only 2 things that was half way good was the turkey wings and fried chicken. I must admit first place I’ve been to that had turkey wings but again they were seasoned very well. The mac and cheese was straight nasty it was missing cheese in my opinion. The customer service was lacking, and the food on the hot bar was inconsistent—warm in some areas and cold in others. After placing our order, we waited over an hour and a half for our food, and when we asked for a refund, the manager instead insisted that we choose a free dessert. Unfortunately, the dessert appeared old and lacked freshness both in appearance and taste. I was quite disappointed, and when I returned to the hotel, I realized one of my side dishes was missing, and they were also out of many other sides.
Stopped here driving from Charlotte back to Florida. Googled soul food and so happy we chose this establishment. My friends and I were not disappointed. Buffet style soul food with the best service! Fried fish, pork chops, fried chicken, pot pie, beef tips and potatoes, squash cass, greens, peas, rice and gravy, candied yams, BIG turkey wings, sweet tea, lemonade! The sweet people that work there are very attentive. Had a great lunch on our way home, but needed a nap after! WONDERFUL LUNCH!
First time for me but this place is well worth it. The price, the food, the service and the atmosphere are all amazing…. Time for a nap ?
