I've been fortunate to visit Italy twice in the past year, and I can confidently say that Da Vinci's Pizza offers the most authentic Italian pizza I've experienced in Bloomington (and perhaps in the entire U.S.). I highly recommend the pizza, and I also tried the calzone, which was quite good (I shared some with my daughter). The pistachio cake had a delicate, delightful flavor, and my husband enjoyed his dessert, the Tartufo, which was excellent. The Italian wine I had was a lively, mild red, reminiscent of a Chianti Classico. While I usually prefer Moscato when it comes to red wine, this was a lovely glass.
Da Vinci is an excellent choice for Italian food in Bloomington. The bruschetta comes generously topped, and the bread is perfectly toasted. I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, which was generously dressed, and the croutons were a delightful addition. We ordered a create-your-own pizza topped with fior di latte cheese, tomato, and basil. It was well-cooked and delicious. They also offer all-vegan "mozzarella" cheese, making it a great option for those following a vegan diet. The service is commendable, and they have a nice selection of pasta dishes on the menu as well.
I consider myself a regular at this point because every chance I have I go here! The food is simply amazing so flavorful and fresh. If you’re thinking about going here, DO IT! I promise you will not regret it.But my BIGGEST compliments have to go to the staff. Tonight with a very busy parent’s weekend, Sophia and Henry (the amazing hands on owner) had the best attitudes and were beyond accommodating. Shoutout to the entire team though each time I come I feel so welcomed and greeted with smiles by all. Keep killing it Da Vinci!
We were seated promptly on a Friday evening and our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Our appetizer was the bruschetta which was delicious! I had the seafood ravioli with pesto cream sauce my husband had the veggie pizza. Pizza shown is what our son-in-law ordered. We shared a New York cannoli cheesecake triple chocolate mouse which were light and scrumptious! Let me share my experience: I lived in Italy for seven years, and for the last 22 years, I've been on a quest to find pizza that can truly be called authentic Italian pizza. After moving to Bloomington last year, we discovered Da Vinci, and I have to say, I will miss this place when I return to Italy to retire. And just so you know, il Papa is the best pizza on the menu! Everything at Da Vinci is exceptional—the food, the drinks, the staff, and of course, the pizza makers!
I went to a ramen restaurant for lunch and noticed a lot of people heading to this place, so I decided to return for dinner. I was in the mood for Italian-style pizza, and I have to say, the pizza was absolutely fantastic. The salad also took us by surprise; we enjoyed it even more than the pizza! I will definitely return to this restaurant on my next visit to IU.
I had an overall decent experience at the restaurant. While the service was friendly, it wasn’t as attentive as I had hoped. The atmosphere was comfortable, but the food was just average. I think I’ll need to come back and try some other dishes before making a final judgment.
The wood-fired pizza here is quite good. While it's not my favorite style, they offer a nice variety of toppings, though I would have preferred a bit more cheese. I would definitely consider returning. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Really enjoyed this Italian restaurant that our daughter recommended. Their ambience, service and the internal decor featuring art reproduction of Vinci's artworks.
