Easter Sunday, 10am, whilst trying hard to detour myself from overindulging at another favourite cafe, I decided it was time to visit Dad Dave's, and sooooo glad I did!<br/ <br/ Promptly greeted and seated with a menu, I settled for the Middle Eastern.<br/ My food was served after a short unnoticed wait, as sitting along the front window, I enjoyed the warm breeze whilst observing the Yarravile culture.<br/ <br/ Exploring the plate, which was full of flavours and textures that perfectly complimented each other, I soon realised I had spent a whopping 30mins polishing it off (no phone or distractions involved .<br/ <br/ Upon ordering my takeaway coffee (which also tasted amazing, and EXTRA HO...
Located right next to Yarraville Station, this café is an excellent choice for those using public transport. As for the food: The vegan pancakes were outstanding. However, I found the fritters to taste as if they had been thawed and then cooked. They were lacking in flavor and the exterior didn't have the crunch I expected. Regarding presentation: The presentation was appealing without being excessive. It was simple yet effective. One of the cutest and most vegan friendly cafes in Yarraville. Has been there for years and has retained an old school vibe that gives it lots of charm. Heaps of vegan options on the menu, but since I was going to Goje for vegan froyo after, I settled for something from the cabinet A tasty housemade toastie filled with veg, hummus and vegan cheese. Good bread, hearty fillings, went great with a soy coffee. My new go to next time I'm in the area.
The service was excellent. Our food arrived promptly, and the coffee was fantastic. The bircher muesli was abundant with fresh fruit and chia seeds mixed into the oats, making for a very nutritious breakfast. I really enjoy this place; it's my go-to coffee shop on my commute to work. They offer some tasty vegan options as well. However, the quality of the coffee can be hit or miss, depending on who is operating the espresso machine. About 90% of the time, it’s quite good. When it's on point, it's fantastic; but when it's not, it tends to be burnt.
The best thing about Dad And Dave’s is that it is located right next to Platform 1 of Yarraville station, which is really handy if you are heading to the city. Preorder your coffee for a quick getaway. Also a good spot for an all-day brunch. There is an outside area to sit but no cover and heading.
Very friendly staff owners. Felt extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. Lots of options from small snack offerings to full meals. The deli fridge looked devine. Great coffee. Brilliant dishes came from the kitchen. We were lucky enough to find a seat inside. Cute little space.

Great little place with minimal seating and no heating (lucky we wore our coats! but the lovely waitress, great food and coffee distracted us! Well priced and easy parking. Definitely worth another visit lucky the locals have this one
