I restrict myself to twice a season. Why? They have THE MOST AMAZING hot fudge cream puff. Forget the plastic forks, I bring my own stainless steel fork so I can enjoy every ounce of that oozy, gooey delight. Love going there in early summer on a Saturday or Sunday for dessert. Lines are long, so be prepared to wait as the staff is quite busy getting everyone's orders out before the ice cream melts. 2nd trip is usually mid to end of September before they close for the season. It's a 20 to 30 minute drive on the expressway from the county but worth the trip.
This is our favorite places in Windsor to get soft serve ice cream. Cones are always fresh and crispy and the ice cream smooth and creamy. Some places have grainy soft ice cream but this has never been an issue here. I'm a fan of a cone dipped in chocolate and nuts and if it's overly warm weather wise or I'm dressed in good clothes they have no problem flipping the cone into a sundae cup for me. Less sloppy but all the tastes of having a cone as opposed to a sundae. My husband loves the chocolate/vanilla swirl. Always a "de lite" here!
The Dari De Lite has been a staple in South Windsor for as long as I can remember and I am old enough to know. The students that work there are neat, clean, and professional. In the evenings, expect to wait in line as it is a popular place. They offer the full line of ice cream desserts and they are all very reasonably priced, much less than the chain ice cream places sell for. Everything is made while you wait and they truly appreciate your business.
I found this Ice cream shop on Google. Upon my arrival the place was packed full, and many more cars kept coming. The staff were friendly and willing to help. I had their special , which was the cookie crunch cone. Also, we had the Banana boat. However, we custom made it to our liking which cost us more. A 'fast ice cream bar' that can be quite crowded on warm nights. There is s good variety of ice creams, Sundaes, Shakes and Slushes. We tried the Raspberry Slush with Vanilla over cream float. Super cooling and de Litefully de Licious!!There were three serving windows and add you can see, there still was a little crowd standing in queues or socialising and enjoying the ice creams – that are a definite value for money.
This long time family owned and operated ice cream paradise is truly a gem in Windsor. The staff are always eager to please and are quick, friendly and efficient. There are so many varieties of treats that you could have something different every day of the summer. It is one of the best values one can find nowadays in the city. Great for families, grandparents and kids of all shapes and sizes!
We where looking for a place to get a soft ice cream that was not just another cone. WE FOUND IT...the ice cream is so good. very creamy and plentiful. Prices are fantastic and the service was fast and friendly. Very popular place that was so easy to find with ample parking. We will be back. and so will our dog as he loved his cone.
I live nearby and it takes great effort to not go there daily. Delicious ice cream treats. Great specials and cheerful staff. There isn't many places to sit other than your vehicle. They should add an eating area. A summer favourite at my house. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
A nice old fashioned ice cream stand. Prompt, polite service that's as quick as possible since some people just can't decide from all the yummy options - prices are fantastic - busy nightly but worth the wait!
