I ordered the Filet and crab cake with the house potatoes and a caesar salad! Let's start the the salad and bread, top notch! Their caesar dressing was creamy with a hint of lemon flavor! We were seated and assisted by Jacob, who took our drink orders, and Holly was our server. Holly was outstanding! She even brought us HOT bread to our table. We were supposed to get it when we first ordered our drinks, but it wasn't available, so she made sure we received some. Given that it was close to closing time, her thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated, and honestly, she didn’t have to do it. I personally have never cared much for Kruse and Muir, so when Darrell's opened here I had to give it a shot. Prior to my first time coming here I heard a lot of positive feedback. In any case, from the first time I came here I was hooked.Now, I probably come here once a month or more, typically with my wife when we have a night out and we sit at the bar. The staff is great, and I personally always get the filet and I'm never disappointed. I'm definitely a steak lover, and I have to say the filet here is my favorite. My wife dined at this restaurant with some of her girlfriends and ordered the ribeye with peppercorn sauce. She loved the sauce so much that she brought some home for me to try, but she was quite disappointed with the steak itself. After taking a single bite, I understood her frustration; the steak was not cooked to her preference and was lacking in seasoning. Additionally, it was riddled with gristle. Ribeyes are meant to be fatty, but they shouldn't be so tough that your jaw hurts after just one bite. This restaurant really needs to reassess both their meat supplier and their cooking methods. Beer/cider prices are par. Caesar salad was very flavorful, if not photogenic. The cup of gumbo was well received. The calamari appetizer had many pieces of red and green bell pepper and it was covered in the same creamy creole sauce as the Red Snapper we ordered with the crab cake topper. I have visited multiple times in the last few months and the food gets better each time! The double bone pork chop is about as good as it gets. The entire Darrel's team treats you like family. It is by far my favorite restaurant.
This was such a comfortable place to take our family for an excellent meal. The service is fantastic. Our meal was delicious. The drinks were great. We enjoyed the gnocchi appetizer and the seafood!
