Went here because my daughters wanted pizza. To me the place looked a bit touristy and so I 'd probably normally avoid, as in my experience places like this can have poor food for a lot of money. Over the years I 've been visiting this part of France, I 've discovered a few good, reasonably priced restaurants, which are always consistently good, so I should have trusted my instincts on this place!! The pizzas were very bad, with slushy tomato that looked like it came straight out of a jar, and my steak hache was basically a burger from a packet. Our friends live in Saint Savin and said that the restaurant was taken over by new people. We have eaten there three times this week and although the wait to be served is ridiculously long it’s just a father and son) the food is worth it. The pizzas are fab and the galettes are better. I wish they would do more traditional French food though, tourists and locals alike are fed up with only be offered burgers and pizzas. They also need to employ staff over the busy summer period. It’s a very relaxed place with lots of outside seating. There are shaded areas to sit overlooking the Abbey and the square.
Was initially put off by previous reviews but glad we dined here. The food was excellent and cooked in an authentic wood fired oven! Service was great with the owner happy to attempt to understand my schoolboy French. I had a fantastic charcuterie pizza with the rest of the family choosing other great combinations. One Being a creme fraiche and chIcken Combo which was different but tasted great, fantastic food, great value, five stars!
Great service! Great food! Have tried their burgers, nachos and wings and all of it was great!! Servers have always been attentive and very very polite.
