Wir waren im De La Tour essen und haben uns nach dem Essen auf der Terrasse noch Grappa und Espresso zu einer Zigarette genehmigt. Plötzlich stand das gesamte Personal um uns herum und hat uns zu verstehen gegeben dass sie jetzt schlafen gehen wollen. Meine Freundin hatte noch ein halbvolles Glas und hat gefragt ob sie dieses austrinken könne. Darauf hat der Chef erwidert, er wolle jetzt gehen. Ich konnte mir den Hinweis dann nicht verkneifen, dass eine Ansage zum Restaurantschluss etwas früher erfolgen könnte. Uninspired by the centre town lunchtime offerings, I chanced upon this very pleasant restaurant beneath a magnificent medieval tower while exploring the old town. My guess the cooking skills required for the more complex a la carte dinner menu dishes might be reflected in the simpler lunchtime menu proved correct and I enjoyed a tasty soup, pasta and a fancy surprise dessert at a very ordinary price. I will be back for dinner in their very attractive formal dining room when I can persuade my partner Biel is more than just a Jura town to change trains.

Das Restaurant am Rand der Bieler Altstadt ist wunderschön. Der Turm (de la Tour) gehörte zur mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer und man kann sogar in einem Turmzimmer essen.Die Küche ist italienisch und gehört zum Besseren, was man in Biel bekommen kann. Meine Tagliata neulich war allererste Klasse. Die Preise sind etwas hoch, aber das Ambiente zählt ja auch. Die Weinkarte dürfte etwas ausführlicher sein.
this restaurant is located in an old building of the pretty old town of bene. the proposed kitchen is a very good Italian (this is not a pizzeria.) the map and the service are pleasant. I like the terrace. The plates are treated. very good flavor of all ingredients. prices are in relation to the proposed quality. You have to go without mistake if you go by bene.
Relativ schlechter Service, nicht gut informiert. Die Gerichte kamen größtenteils kalt an, die Preise sind teuer für die Portionen, die nicht qualitativ hochwertig und winzig sind. Schließlich wurde ein Teil des Gerichts vergessen … totale Enttäuschung.
