Every order I have placed with Dean's so far has had some form of mistake or error in it. My first order they missed a milkshake and only brought 1, they also forgot 2 sides of chips and 2 cans of drink (ordered via UberEats) My second order was a burger (no tomato and add chilli sauce) and of course, they brought the WRONG burger. Our third order (we tried to give them 1 final chance) however as per usual, the order was incomplete. For all the restaurants crowding the length of Newtown's King Street from Chippendale to St Peters it's not so easy to find a simple old fashioned takeaway selling burgers, chips, chiko rolls and the like. Dean's, which does about a dozen different burgers, plus your usual takeaway staples, is one of the few. Next door to Newtown Social, the old Sandringham, it gets plenty of custom from hungry drinkers as well as locals tired of the more exotic alternatives. Simple, old-fashioned authentic Australian burgers in a 1950s style takeaway milkbar. Hard to come by in Sydney nowadays. Burger joints aren't focused on making old school burgers but for a handful. This one is well worth the visit, has friendly staff and accommodating operating hours. The menu will definitely cater to your tastes, it's huge with a great number of burger combos. I was serviced by the owners, a couple who have also been there for years. Burger highlights; - 'Jackson Five' burger for the win! Located on the king street and open till late, deans diner is a popular eatery serving burgers and wraps. We were pub hopping in Newtown and saw this and went to try it out. Surprisingly they had a good variety of options for vegetarians. We took the unforgettable burger made of corn and veggies patty. It was quite good, not great. My friends tried a chicken burger but didn't like it.

Put away all the fancy **** and just grab yourself a big ol juicy burger that would make your grand parents proud Dean's is somewhat of an institution now in Newtown with all the locals knowing this iconic shop. I had the porker's burger and it was like eating an old school takeaway! For some people, that was before the days of the American burger trend where the meat is cooked to a pink scale and covered in cheese and sauce. None the less. It is such a good burger. Had cosmic egg burger here it was somehow very satisfying. Really nothing stands out in particular maybe it is just the correct combination of ordinary ingredients that makes it a great burger.
