Hands down one of the best Cheesesteaks I've had in years. On my last visit to the area my brother brought me by here for lunch the day before we left. Upon walking in the door you basically see a small no frills establishment. There's a counter where you place your order and then you fill your drink yourself after they pass you a cup and then take a seat at one of the tables in or booths that line the other wall. BTW, the place was spotless. My brother and I each ordered a cheesesteak each with grilled onions and split a basket of curly fries then grabbed a booth. I don't see what all the hype is over this place! The steak was very flavorless that I had to add salt to make it better. It also lacked cheese, how is it that I can barely see the cheese on a CHEESEsteak! I could barely eat it but didn't want to waste food. To add insult to injury I asked the girl for a pepper shroom steak and she looked at me like I was crazy. I know this isn't Philly but we're close enough that you should know what that is.
Cheese steak is not authentic! Ordered a small cheese steak with mushrooms and some onion rings. The cheese steak was huge and I was only able to eat half of it. The roll was too spongy and the cheese was wrong. The onion rings were excellent. The chopping by the cooks was loud and distracting. The counter staff was friendly. They don?t clean the tables.
I give this restaurant 3 stars because the cheesesteak was quite bland. The only flavor came from the grilled onions, while the cheese had a cheap taste. However, my wife really enjoyed her meal. I've brought a number of my out-of-state friends here for cheesesteaks, and Delco's never disappoints. They consistently serve a high-quality sandwich packed with flavorful meat.
Husband and shared a big sub and had enough for his lunch the next day! Everything was very fresh and delicious. Service was fast and staff friendly. Very nice experience.
