I had heard about Demetre from my friends, but this was my first time visiting. The four of us arrived a bit late on Canada Day, right after the fireworks. At first, the guy at the front desk told us it was takeout only since it was almost closing time. The place was packed, for goodness' sake! A few minutes later, another waitress came by and found us a table, and I’m so grateful to her for that! The waffle topped with ice cream was simply delicious. The service was also quick, even though it was nearly midnight and they were busy. It was definitely worth the drive, and we’ll definitely be going back!
It's a great place if you like big, heavy, and sweet desserts. Like the stuff you'd see in movies or tv. It won't be your cup of tea if you're looking for a light dessert after a meal. That's kinda what I like so I give it a 4/5. But I can see some people really liking the style of desserts they offer. The decor was a bit weird but it suited the vibe they were going for. Staff was alright, nothing special. Overall, I don't see myself going back but I think it's mostly due to personal taste. It's a fine establishment for what it is.
Love their deserts. This place is always packed up. Make sure you go a bit early. The staff was very helpful. My dessert usually comes with a cone but since they ran out of it they gave options to choose either fruits or toppings on the house. I chose strawberries. The latte came with almond biscotti it was equally good. Overall loved it. The crepe is enough for 2 ppl it comes loaded with fruits and your choice of toppings. We opted for banana and strawberries with nutella. Loved it. Would keep visiting again and again.
Evening desserts are a delight! My friends and I went to Demetres, and we each indulged our sweet cravings. We savored waffles topped with fruits, chocolate sauce, and ice cream, as well as a decadent chocolate cake served with chocolate sauce and ice cream on the side. There were so many tempting choices on the menu! The atmosphere was pleasant but quite busy—it's a good idea to make a reservation or arrive early to ensure you get a table! This is our favorite local dessert spot. The portions are generous, and they offer a fantastic variety. Every flavor of ice cream they serve is delicious and unique. The prices are reasonable as well. The only drawback is that the Richmond Hill location is quite dated and could definitely use some renovations.
Went in for some late night waffles and relaxing atmosphere. But it got very busy, very quickly. It's not huge space, so noise levels carried quite a bit. Service was good and the waffles were delicious. Light and fluffy. Ice cream on the side is a must, unless you want cold and soggy waffles.
The service was excellent, but the menu was frustrating and unclear—with no pictures or prices listed. I chose a single scoop of plain ice cream, but it came with three large brownies and very little ice cream. I hope the management decides to revise this printed menu.
I typically get the Belgian waffle topped with white chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, and it was just as delicious as always! However, my cousin and I were disappointed to discover that the Caffé Demetre at East Beaver Creek and Highway 7 has closed. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Visited In 2/1!! I ordered Oreo Sundae and my friend order It waffle with Ice cream! Tasted delicious and got what we paid for!! P.S. if you don’t eat too much ice cream, I suggest don’t buy 2 scoops of sundae!!
