I arrived around 4 PM on Thanksgiving Day to pick up two full turkey dinners from Denny's in Dana Point. To be honest, I didn't expect much since it's Denny's, right? If given the choice, I think most of us would opt for a Thanksgiving feast lovingly prepared at home over any restaurant meal. However, that wasn't the case for me this year. We stopped by this restaurant after a beach day to enjoy a warm post-surf lunch with the kids, and we were happily surprised by our experience. The menu was on par with the high expectations set by Denny's, but it was Hector Hernandez's service that really made our visit special. Hector treated our entire family, including the kids, with exceptional friendliness, charm, and respect, truly exemplifying the gold standard of top-notch service. He has my vote for Le Clefs d’Or. The managers and other staff members we interacted with were also impressive.
Denny's is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from our hotel, making it a great choice. In fact, there are several other restaurants within just 200 feet, and the beach is only a block away. We had a lovely breakfast with our family right by the beach; the service was fast, the food was delicious, and the prices were fair. It was a pleasant walk from our hotel to the bridge that leads directly to the restaurant. What a fantastic location!
If you're visiting Dana Point beach and looking for a place to eat, this restaurant is one of the few within walking distance. Be prepared, though, as it can get quite crowded! Despite the busy atmosphere, the manager and staff remained calm and effectively managed our group of more than eight during peak times. They were able to seat us outside in under ten minutes! I had never been to the Denny's on PCH in Dana Point before, and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was nice, the food was tasty, and the service was outstanding. I will definitely be coming back! Also, if you're a senior, remember to use your AARP card for a 15% discount on your meal.
Camilo was an exceptional person. He made our dining experience truly delightful. His kindness and sense of fun really stood out.
Karen provided us with excellent service; she was very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived.
