Derbystube - Tisch resevieren

Sadly after a superb previous stay at this establishment one Christmas we took the wrong decision to revisit this week for just some food. We only had 3 nights in Grindelwald and were massively disappointed we chose to eat here with so many other establishments offering better food at better prices with a better atmosphere, I ordered the pan fried trout and husband had the battered perch. His was nothing short of a sad looking snack at dinner prices! He had around 8 perch filets and one plain potato with tartar sauce. It was nothing short of a rip off. This restaurant is too obvious… It is in the Derby Hotel in Grindelwald which is right next to the train station… One might easily walk past it as the Eiger north mountain face pulls you into the town. Grindelwald is a must stop for its location and history… In some ways it is the quintessential Swiss Mountain Village… if it has become a town…and busy during the day. But if you have not been there...you must…and if you have…a return helps re-live that first site. You need to eat and you want it to be Swiss… Surprisingly the Derbystube fits perfectly. The restaurant serves Swiss specialties and they are all good…start with fondue. Yes, there are other tourists… But that’s happening throughout...

Das Essen war fade und hatte keinen besonderen Geschmack. Das Restaurant war voller Fliegen. Und zu guter Letzt war der Kellner unhöflich: Wir baten um die Rechnung und kurz danach entschieden wir uns, ein Dessert zum Mitnehmen zu bestellen, woraufhin der Kellner extrem unhöflich reagierte, sodass wir beschlossen, sofort zu gehen. Der Kellner behauptete, dass es nur Eis zum Mitnehmen als Dessert gab, was aber nicht stimmte, da wir zuvor die Speisekarte mit vielen Optionen gesehen hatten. Einfach ein fauler und unhöflicher Mitarbeiter.

Wir sind geraume Zeit durch Grindelwald gelaufen, um ein traditionelles Schweizer Restaurant zu finden, und waren erstaunt, wie viele "Touristenfallen" dort Standardessen servieren. Schließlich suchte ich nach dem Essen, das wir suchten, und fand eine fantastische Bewertung für Alpen Macaroni, also machten wir uns auf den Weg zum Restaurant und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Right beside the train station, if you're hungry or arriving late, it's a convenient place to fill up your stomach. We saw the menu outside and decided to try it, ordered a local fondue (bread some vegetables) and a fish plate. The service is normal and no problem, and the dishes is fine.

Awful waitress who told us she has fresh orange juice when she didn’t and awful manager who came to bully us afterwards. We didn’t touch it but got charged 4x our try consumption over it. Tourist trap next to the Railroad stay away.

Wirklich leckeres Essen und große Portionen. Es gibt auch eine separate Spezial-Fondue-Karte. Gute Preise und freundliches Personal. Es gibt viele Sitzplätze, auch draußen.

We went twice to this place.I enjoy the meal at this place good value. Service is good. location is very good.
