Destroyer - Tisch resevieren

Is Destroyer still a secret? I feel like Eater other food blogs don’t often mention Destroyer but it is SO UNIQUE and DELICIOUS!!!! Whether it’s the small (fruit jam bar) or complicated and bigger (avocado confit bowl), chances are, you haven’t had anything like it before. Wait, it’s not a secret bc the weekend brunch time is a SCENE. Crowded, but bc it is all outdoors, it’s still chill. Don’t do like we did and linger bc on the weekend, a staff member will kick you out after 90m or so. ? It makes sense that the concept, the atmosphere, the food is all unique and excellent bc it IS the casual sister to Vespertine. Try to go during the week and don’t forget to peruse the pantry goods ceramics...

I got the sweet potato waffles, but they were cold and gooey, not crunchy at all. The sunny side up egg I ordered was basically raw. My friend’s scrambled eggs tasted too "eggy” if that makes sense since they don’t add salt or pepper, and another friend didn’t even get their order of eggs and bread. The matcha latte was mostly milk with hardly any matcha flavor. The carrot cake was good but would be better if the nuts were roasted in some type of sugar or syrup. The seating is kind of weird since you order first, then have to find a table. Parking 's a hassle too. The staff was nice, though, so I’ll give them a star for that.

Pricey but delicious with lots of healthy options. All made with great quality fresh veg. I had the caramelized chickpeas. I wouldnt normally order a dish like this but I was in a rush. I totally loved it. Flavors were perfect. A little sweet, a little acidic. Very filling with the panisse, which was like a polenta cake. I felt healthy and satiated. I also ordered a gluten free coffee cake and it was absolutely incredible! Best GF thing I’ve had in a while. Black sesame coffee was a bit sweet for me but fun and yummy. Wouldn’t order again but enjoyed it.

The ingredients did not complement each other or tasted as if, in the case of the chocolate financier, it was made out of a box cake. Coffee, very hot coffee, is served in water goblets ??‍ and when spilled, even a little bit, will burn your skin. Was really looking forward to it but it became a huge disappointment. Maybe it was just an off day, but I ordered the French toast from here, and the bread was SO hard/crusty that I had to practically saw into it with my knife for every bite. Also, the door to the bathroom is nearly see-through, so you can the silhouettes of people walking around outside/waiting as you’re on the toilet… just a bizarre and very uncomfortable experience.

Eclectic breakfast menu with exquisite design. Can get very crowded on weekends. Vegetarian options: Most dishes have meat. You can ask to have meat removed. Parking: When it's busy the street parking can get crowded. If looking for EV charging, use the chargers at parking for the modern looking building at the SE corner of Hayden and National.

This place is amazing. Great location and beautiful decoration, perfect presentation. You will feel the affluency of the nearby neighborhoods by dining here. You will understand that there are still very beautiful and practical businesses here. A staple.
