It deserves zero stars. This hotel charges 10/day to park even if you are not flying. Annoying signs everywhere about their parking fee. Marriott continues to go downhill by fleecing its guests with absurd fees. 10/day for guests to give Marriott their business, as if the hotel was located in NYC or Las Vegas. Outdated and small rooms in average condition. When I asked the front desk person about the fee, she stated that Marriott does not own the lot and they have been charging the fee for a year. However the hotel has been there for many years so its an unclear why only now the parking fee is in effect. The staff is top notch. I had a minor problem that was quickly and fully resolved. Hotel was fine for business meetings, but a little dated. Gym is very limited, never saw anyone in the pool although it is large and clean. There was (clean) water in the tub at check in (probably bc stopper was detached) and some bathroom floor tiles were discolored (didn’t complain about this bc so minor). Located at the airport but never heard the planes. Stayed on concierge floor, but really just a typical hotel room. Concierge breakfast was good, but dinner was more like appetizers (pot stickers, etc) Room appeared standard size but furniture arrangement made it feel smaller.
This hotel was clutch. We got caught up in the crazy flying fiasco and was stuck in Detroit for two days. Went to this hotel at 4;00 am, they had no rooms but let us sleep in the lobby. Had a room for the next night, hooked us up with toothpaste and other needs. Staff was kind and took care of us.
The shuttle is UNRELIABLE picking you up unless you are on the southwest side of the airport. How can you have 1 shuttle and say your service is every 30 mins when it only goes to one side of the airport. Loud airplanes overhead, and while there are three ladies up front working the counter, you just stand there and watch while they are all on their phones. Once they get done texting, they will help you. Weird attitude. The lady who works overnight was very friendly and helpful, though.
Convenient to DTW airport with a 24 hour shuttle. They also offer long term parking as a separate service. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Tip As for a room on the backside of the hotel, away from the highway.
Very close to the airport, clean, daily parking for $10/day is great. Free shuttle to the airport is good, but should note only holds 10 people.
