A few years ago, this was the hippest restaurant to be, so Di An Di has been on my list for the longest time. It is located by the East River side of Greenpoint, which five years ago was practically the boonies, but today is just another eatery sandwiched between kettl and Paulie Gee. Despite the cool industrial look, the space is beautiful and airy, made cozy by lots of plants and wood. I visited early Saturday evening and was seated in the back immediately. We ordered the Gỏi Đu Đủ/papaya salad $15) and the Bánh bột chiên/rice cake omelette $15) to start with. The papaya salad had so many fun textures and flavors, from the crunchy sesame cracker and shredded papaya to the chewy thin strips...

This place has made its way to become one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Brooklyn, or NYC in general. This mostly attributed to the taste. The bún thịt nướng (lemongrass pork bowl) was very flavorful, especially the beef; the mixing sauce added a nice sweet and salty palate. The oysters were good but not very memorable. The phở bowl was great flavor-wise but not sure why no Vietnamese restaurant in America like to use the authentic pho noodles in their pho bowl. The bánh tráng trộn (rice paper salad) hits all the right notes of an authentic one. They also sell bánh chưng (Chung cake) during lunar new year, which is a plus. The cakes are quite small with little fillings but hey, thi...

Unfortunately we were very disappointment by our visit. We had been many times before and always enjoyed the food, the drinks and the overall vibe. But this time, everything was different. The portions were much smaller (and while tasty, not worth the $24), the cocktails not as elaborate (we miss the Indonesian bartender who used to work there), the service was rushed (we had just finished our last bites that the bowls were immediately removed and we were pressed for the check) and the atmosphere lacked comfort (the front door was kept open almost the entire time). We were regular customers but unfortunately may not come back. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Had dinner here, definitely my favorite restaurant this entire trip. The menu was a little small (I heard they may be renovating so that may change) but everything we ordered was so absolutely amazing! The waitress was incredibly professional, even serving us in the pouring rain (we were safe under the outdoor roof, and she managed to keep all the dishes completely dry). Every dish held incredible flavor, so much so that if you asked for my favorite dish there, I couldn't give one because they were all so phenomenally delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in the Greenpoint area.

Waitress scoffedI came here the first time in 2018, the pho was good and I introduced this restaurant to lot of friends. But this time the broth isn’t rich as last time. It’s changed a lot. I don’t satisfy with the food so i tip 15% on total after tax. The waitress immediately scoffed at us, so RUDEtravel from San Francisco, we dined in at 8:30 pm on Oct 7th 23, that is very bad experience after a long trip.

Hands down the best Vietnamese food. A must visit whether you’re a local our tourist. I’ve been here a dozen times and it’s amazing every time. I usually try new appetizers and cocktails, but will always go with the Beef Pho Hanoi. But Warning: You will likely say holy sh*t after every bite and slurp. Yes, it’s that good here.

One of my favourite spots in Brooklyn, their cocktails are such an incredible experience, each one highlighting a unique and quintessentially Vietnamese flavour while complementing their liquor selections. And the food is incredibly well crafted and well worth the wait if you’re stuck in line!
