It has been many years since we have eaten at Diez de Mayo Restaurant and today we finally got to town when they were open for lunch. Inside the dining area are these super bright LED rope lights on the ceiling that really brighten up the restaurant—almost too bright for me! Waitstaff was very attentive and the service was good. Chips were kinda stale. Salsa was warm (with heat—not spice) which I like. I had a chile relleno dinner plate and spouse had fajita enchiladas. Food was ok, at best… not as we remembered. First time we went was for lunch. Good waiter, food came out hot and good. This week we went for dinner, larger crowd but not bad. Ordered drinks and placed our order and went through a couple baskets of chips and waited and waited our food came out everything was bare warm. Fajitas should be smoking hot. Cheese, meat ant vegetables were not even close to being hot. Not impressed so far. Couple next to us gave up and walked out very disappointed. I believe the food was cooked and prepared in a short time. I believe it sat for quite some time before the waiter brought it out. It’s got to get better than that. I wish them luck.
This place is a rip off! They give you the skimpiest portions. I had the thinnest smallest chicken breast piece. 12.99 and they give you the thinnest piece of chicken you ever seen. They also skimp on the steak but of course they do, if they skimp on the chicken they will definitely be skimping on the steak. They give you thinnest piece of steak so skinny. They charge you 7.99 for the smallest cup of queso. Also the enchiladas are disgusting
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant now! It was like a trip to San Antonio. The Margarita was smoothly not syrup and not bitter. It was perfect AND for sale! The food is earthly and authentic. The Menudo is in the Top 5 I've ever had. The deluxe dinner has a little of everything, and I couldn't find a mistake in it. The staff was excellent and on our evey need. It's a must. That was our first experience to eat here. It could not look like much from outside, but once you enter everything is on point. From the Fajitas my wife ordered to the Enchiladas I had everything was amazing. The service was no longer. Friendly and polite with timely checks on our table. I highly recommend that you have never been here. We will definitely eat there again.
All the food pictured come out to $70! Not too bad! The flavor was good and the service was excellent. It’s a quaint little place tucked away, nice and cozy! We did not get any adult beverages but they sure looked delicious! Oh! Their table glasses are super big! I didn’t need a refill but the party with me only needed one and got the rest put in to-go cups!
I enjoyed my dinner very much. My wife ordered Barbacoa and I ordered Chicken Mole. Hard to find someone who makes chicken Mole and the taste was fantastic!! I didn't catch the name of our waiter, but he was also excellent.

Yummy! Stopped for a quick lunch. Will be back to try out that fabulous cocktail menu!
