This was my first time with a friend who has been coming here for years and I just loved the food! Their Uighur dish, chicken with hand made noodles is too good and a must! Its a very generous portion and well sliced with black...peppercorns and a very tasty sauce. The other highlight is their hot tea -with different herbs and ideal for end of the meal treat. The owner is very friendly and her warm demeanour infects the place. And I wa impressed by the cleanliness of the whole resoyarant including the bathrooms. A must visit to anyone in the Finsbury park area
So, if you didn't know, the Chinese government is forcing Uyghur people (a stateless ethnic group) in Xinjiang province into re-education camps and comitting cultural genocide. Just going to leave that there for your knowledge. Uyghur food is a unique cuisine, with all the tastes...of the Silk Road. Dilara also offers basic Turkish dishes, and Chinese dishes, but I recommend sticking to the Uyghur dishes. I found the Uyghur milk tea much too milk-based for my taste, but the food is excellent.
Whilst looking like yet another kebab shop the restaurant towards the back is large and welcoming smiles from staff set the tone. The food, choosing the Uyghur options was delicious, freshly cooked as we waited. The three of us had three dishes and shared so...we could taste more. My only regret is that we do not live nearer! We left happy and full and embarrassed at paying a little less than £30 including a huge pot of tea.
I had lunch here and the noodles were the best I ever had (and I tried a lot of noodles that they were so soft and gay and chew perfectly. I had the Qoruma Cup and the sauce was rich and burst with taste with lots of sweet and delicate bark and a healthy portion chili oil! the woman who served me was really friendly and chatty and the service overall was excellent. I'm looking forward to tasting more dishes from the menu.
When I lived in London, I used to come here often, especially for lunch. They make the best stews! Now, whenever I visit my old neighbourhood (Finsbury Park) I come for dinner as often as I can. The Uyghur menu is fantastic and the food...is always delicious, the helpings are generous. The service is always friendly. They make you feel at home. Can't wait for my next visit!
