I have been wanting to visit this place ever since I planned my trip to DC. All four meals we ordered were delicious and satisfying. Our dine-in and take-out food was prepared in less than 10 minutes and truly captured the flavors of Uighur traditional cuisine. I especially enjoyed the tea with honey. The restaurant had a cozy and clean atmosphere. The staff and manager were very welcoming. I was even allowed to take a peek at the second floor, which was closed at the time, and I admired all the handmade artwork displayed.
The food tastes all right and I completely get it when people say they are delicious and special. However, having been to Xinjiang myself, I know it is not quite that authentic. There dishes rely somewhat too much on the sauces (and the red bell peppers), which often provides a sweet/sour flavor that covers the original flavor of the ingredients. Overall, the quality of the food was not impressive. Every dish we ordered was good, but it was like there could be something to be improved with it. The veggies included in the pearled noodle dish didn?t seem to match so well, the lamb kebab seemed to be a little overcooked, and the pumpkin dumplings were definitely just square cuts of butternut squash in a dumpling wrapper. We were basically put at a table and forgotten about until one order arrived but no silverware. Then we had to flag someone down for water. Then the second meal arrived minutes after the first. Never saw the waitress again. Had to flag down someone for the check. And the lamb was greasy. We will never go there again

The best central Asian cuisine in DMV area. I will definitely come back and recommend this cafe to all my friends! All the servers were extremely friendly and nice, and the food was delicious. I also liked the super authentic atmosphere inside the restaurant
