With so many restaurants to choose from today it makes it tough to pick one to please a son's 20 yr old birthday and with his girl for the first time for dinner. We picked Dolcetto! It could not have been better. We sat on the edge of inside and outside. We had the best of both worlds especially when one can not decide "patio or inside?". We had "Chris" for a waiter. We could not have had any one better. He was efficient , personable, knowledgeable, professional, classy, down to earth and more. Our appetizers were fantastic. Went to Dolcetto in mid-July. I would say it was moderately busy compared to our many visits before. My husband and I started with cocktails, they were great and refreshing. We got prosciutto and risotto balls for the family to share, then each got our own entrees. Food was great as always, and our server Nicole was fantastic. Only thing that bothered us was the manager who was at the table to the right of us at the beginning of our meal extensively flirting with a gentleman. My last review of Dolcetto left me concerned that the restaurant had turned in the wrong direction (Portions were reduces, quality had dropped etc.). I am happy to report that their portions were back to what helped make them very popular, the quality was back and their excellent patio and open wall restaurant were still the best. The Mussels and Pizza were excellent that everyone in our dinner party had with the exception of myself. Unfortunately, I was less than happy with the lamb flat wide pasta dish, its presentation was poor, taste was medium and just not even close to the other dishes chosen by our dinner party even though it was one of the most expensive meals on the menu. Came in with the girls after our walk in Springbank. Ordered 1 sangria, the red one, and then some wine. Cant remember waitresses name but she was good. Food taking a while, didn't notice the time we were chatting but manager came to "apologize" she was frankly a little brash. Food was worth the wait. Left a bad taste in our mouth when manager ignored Deb as she spoke to the waiter behind the bar upon exiting. He thanked us for coming, said have a good night. She must of been "too busy" on her phone. We LOVE to come in after work for pizza & wine combo, good food, good price and good company with manager Jay. Even when we are there for dinner we ask for Jay he remembers our orders everytime & doesn't rush us.Usually Jay takes care of my wife and I, visit is great, BUT he was not there & dinner was not as good. Waitress was sweet but not as knowledgeable maybe new & manager (or maybe owner, mid 30's female) must of been having a bad day. Hope when we come back manager Jay is there otherwise takeout it is! Finally, we tried Dolcetto at the suggestion of our friend who has Celiac disease. Not only is the regular menu extensive and looks great - they have a complete gluten-free menu as well and the servers all know which items are gluten or dairy free. Four of us ordered from the regular menu but two of us went with gluten-free options and shared tastes with the others - delicious! Great atmosphere. Everyone was thrilled with their food and drinks. Our server was terrific. Great time!
My second review since last year. Dolcetto is maintaining and consistent with their food and service. No place better to be on a warm summer night. Still, great food and atmosphere. My only complaint and its a small one, is that the staff has little experience in mixing a cocktail.
The menu is varied with some new twists on old standard dishes that will impress. The restaurant is modern with an open style kitchen and the service is exceptional.The wine list is adequate and the atmosphere is pleasant. An outdoor patio lets you enjoy the beautiful weather. Absolutely the best service I have ever had. The meal was excellent and lots of food...since we had a celebration of birthdays, an after dinner cocktail was "on the house".
