Don Carmelo’s has been on our list of places to try for quite some time and we weren’t disappointed. All of the other reviews about how great the service is are totally true. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived around 7pm. We were told there would be a 15-25 minute wait which was fine as we were cool with having a drink at the bar. While seated in the bar area, someone came over to see if we wanted some chips. Nice touch. The wait ended up being closer to 45 minutes, but several people came over to tell us they were just waiting for the table to pay their check and that they hadn’t forgotten us. I absolutely adore this restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and I appreciate that they give you chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. The staff is so welcoming and makes you feel like a regular customer even if it's your first time there. And let me say it again, the food is simply fantastic. It may not be fancy, but it is delicious. It is evident that the dishes are made with skill and care. The value for the quality of food here is exceptional. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem.
Had dinner with a friend and this was the first time, have been meaning to go and just never made it there. Food was great Mexican egg rolls are a must and the table side guacamole made to order mild or spicy is awesome ... I actually returned the next night with 8 friends after a school meeting and we had a great time, again the food was great and the signature margarita with coconut is a must try great atmosphere, affordable and we all enjoyed ourselves... definitely one of my go to places for Mexican food

My experience at Don Carmelo's was fantastic, I highly recommend it. I tried their iced margarita and steak tacos and they were both delicious. The bartender, Mario, was very attentive and friendly. I want to give a shout out to the owner, Jose, for serving quality food and creating a great atmosphere for families. I will definitely be coming back!
By far my fav Mexican restaurant and bar... Staff is super friendly... Drinks and food are always on point and if you catch the owner Lou he will make sure you have the best time of your day while sitting in his establishment.... Have been going since it opened and will continue to be a patron there!
Love the food here... the location is a little off the beaten path but it's really good food. My biggest complaint is the salsa that comes with the chips in the beginning, is in tiny cups and in reality could be a bit more traditional to most Mexicanrestaurants but the food is fantastic.
I’ve been coming to DCs since it opened , it is our favorite neighborhood hangout! The Mexican egg rolls, fresh guacamole, chips and a Poma mojito are my comfort foods. I had the chicken fajitas and they were really great. I had it with Mexican rice and refried beans it was so fresh. We really enjoyed our time here the staff was amazing and the food was delicious. I can't wait to try their tacos ????
