I absolutely love Don Pepe's; they serve the best choriqueso around! Their food is incredibly delicious. As soon as you arrive, you're welcomed with a small cup of chicken broth with vegetables, along with chips and salsa to enjoy while you wait for your meal. The staff is attentive and quick to serve. We ordered some margaritas, and they were perfectly smooth and balanced, without being too sour. The Parillada Don Pepe was fantastic, featuring beef and chicken fajitas, sausage, mollejas, short ribs, along with rice, beans, and guacamole. 4 stars for the atmosphere 3 stars for the food service This is more of a dress-up restaurant, very nice exterior and interior. The chips were stale and flavorless. The salsa was OK, not at all what I expect in south TX. Nopalito salad withgrilled chicken was OK. Would have been better with a few lime or lemon slices but our talkative waiter was more interested inchatting with his friends than checking on us. He forgot to bring us several things we asked for when he dropped off theentrees. He never apologized-just made an excuse. The beef fajita tacos were just OK. The carne de res was not good at all.
The ambience is very nice. This is a little more of an upscale restaurant. It?s clean and pretty inside and on outside they have a cute pond with ducks and duck food you can buy to feed them. The Service was great. The food was just ok. He orderedfajitas and it didn?t come with any garnish. I ordered the tortilla soup and wasn?t really impressed. When I finally got to thetable the tortillas in the soup were already pretty soggy like it had been sitting for a bit . It?s a nice place though, thefood wasn?t great but it wasn?t terrible. We would go back again.
It's a vert nice restaurant went during lunch hour abt 12:30 it's full. Staff is good. Did take a bit long to notice us even tho they sat us. Overall first time here food is very good yet honestly very very pricey on all their menu. Then again. Everythingis high. But, somethings are not worth the price, maybe it's the location idk what it is. Mexican food. I do recomend what I hadChile relleno but with sauce on side by personal choice. My plate was 17.00 so yes for this it's very high but it is what itis. I may come again but at least I know what to expect.

I was in town waiting for a load back to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and decided to try some Mexican food after finding this place on Google. The food was excellent, the waiters were friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I spent $19 for a generous portion of food and a beer. I left feeling very satisfied and would definitely come back—perhaps even tomorrow!
Place was great! Awesome service, food was great and the atmosphere was really cool. It was like your eating inside but looked like you are outside. I got the special for the day the Mexican plate. It was enchiladas, chalupa, beans, rice and a taco. Allvery good. My friend got the fajitas and they looked really good.
