Recently ordered takeout from Donair for a family of four. A friend had recomended this restauant to me. Three of us had chicken delight with salad and/or fries and one donair. All four of us truly enjoyed our meals. The chicken delight was a large wrap, chicken melted in my mouth, fresh veggies and didn't put the wrap down until finished. Large portions. For sides other the fries or salad would be an excellent choice; both yummy. Salad dressing was great! All of us were so stuffed afterwards; we all ate too much. Next time would order the same. My husband and I used to go here all the time! At least once a week. It was the only place we would go for gyros. However, a couple of months ago, a young girl behind the counter handed him the wrong order. My husband noticed this when he got home so we called and he went in to change it. No big deal, it happens. However, when he got there, the owner proceeded to yell at HIM for taking the wrong order and why would you think your food would be ready that fast and now I can 't use this food so it has to go in the garbage! She gave him the correct order (almost anyway, there was no dressing for my salad) and shooed him out of the restaurant. Had this been handled differently, we would still be...
I tried Donair tonight. We had the Donair, fried pickles, stuffed grape leaves fries. My Donair was decent. It comes with a yogurty sweet onion sauce which I recommend ordering on the side. The sauce caused a rip in the pita. That aside, their pita bread is delicious. I received an ample amount of fries, fried perfectly. The fried pickles were the standard kind you expect to see, with dill in the crust, served with ranch. The biggest selling point is the value I posted the take out menu, as you can see everything is modestly priced. This is a great hole in the wall family joint. I spend less here than I would at McDonald's.
Looking for a fast food home for my partner and I enjoy. I've tried to call the gyro field I usually go home to place our order. They tried several times and they never answered as you will have, I traveled along Tecumseh rd e and saw the sign for this place so decided to dip and try it. What a great decision. Very authentic. I ordered two Greek gyrocombos to go both with Greek salads. Combo also comes with a pop. Delicious. Also big portions!! The real deal. I think I just found a new Gyro place! Thank you.
Got take-out, called in the order, and told it would be ready in 7 minutes! Wow! Gyros were very tasty and very full of meat and toppings. The dinners with fries and salad were very large, great value! My daughter had the child's chicken jr with fries, and she barely got to the fries. My new go-to for gyros!
Still have not found a place that outbeat's the Donair house. Food still awesome. Couple times I have called in a order and always had some slimey brown lettuce, I have learned to show up and order, this way I see my food being prepared. Always will return!
The owner was quite crude to me after my payment. He told me he didn't want my guy there. He swore to me, too. I supported this business during these hard times. Never again. He told me my way is not welcome. Bye
The staff is very friendly, and the food is fantastic! The family meal deal with gyro, fries, Greek salad and pop is a great deal that brings us back. Highly recommend if in the east side of town!
I'm sorry. Donair was good, but not writing at home. Lack of spice..plain. Sauce really didn't have wow or pop factor in it.
