We wanted to give our out-of-town friend a taste of classic Chicago-style Italian cuisine, and Donnie G's definitely delivered. The food was fantastic, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was just right. The menu was well thought out and informative, with dishes like the pasticcio showcasing a Greek influence in the spices, reminiscent of Southern Italy. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning in the future.
This was our first time dining here. The man at the door was very pleasant. Our sever not so much. Didn’t introduce himself. Barely even talked unless it was to repeat our order. Not a good customer service person. He brought our entrees so close to our soup that we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it because we had to hurry and try to get to our entree before they got cold. Really good food, depends who your server is but they are very good. I took mom there for Mother's Day and some things were forgot but they offered a free glass of wine for them forgetting moms coffee fills a few times, she doesn't drink alcohol though ! Fruit flies were a definite problem our first visit there but there seemed to be a problem with them everywhere in Chicago. I'd recommend this place
1 word absolutely Amazing!! Great music I had pasta with shrimp and lobster asparagus in a creamy sauce was the best Italian pasta dish I ever had!!! Sampled loved several auderves of Donny G at fests. Friends gave rave reviews of their food. . Auderves can be a dinner for 2? Dinners were delicious with enough for take home. Pasta is home made. We came for the live music had a great time. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We absolutely loved the location and the delicious food. We visited to celebrate my husband's birthday and enjoyed a variety of appetizers that disappeared quickly, as well as some delicious entrees.
