My homerun poutine was okay, and my daughter enjoyed her pogo and fries. My husband's chicken bacon ranch wrap wasn't very good. He said that there was absolutely no ranch sauce on it, and the chicken lacked flavor and was dry. The server took our order, and we never saw her again after that. Someone else brought the food, and my husband tried asking on multiple occasions if he could get some of the ranch sauce for his wrap, but she ignored him every time. We were never checked on or asked how things were or if we needed anything. However, she was able to check on the table next to us at least 9 times. This was one of the places recommended to us by the Hotel we were staying at (Comfort Inn) and it did not disappoint. Was a bit weary about going in as we didn't really want to eat at a bar, but it is a bar and a regular restaurant too. Wasn't busy at all...a couple people at the bar and only one other family there. Lots of TVs all over the place to watch. Food was excellent. The chicken fingers were very tasty and the home made fries were delicious too. Probably the best we have eaten in a long time and we will definitely go here again next time we stay in town. Service was excellent too. Glad we came here.
I went to Don's restaurant last night. I arrived after the kitchen was closed, but our server was very friendly and was able to persuade the cook to make us something to eat. The cook brought us two delicious homemade pizzas. It was karaoke night and the entertainment was fantastic. The crowd was very funny and friendly. The owner even bought our table a round of drinks and a patron gave us a ride back to our hotel. We will definitely be returning to Don's in the future. Thank you for a fun night.
The wife and I walked the 20 mins from the hotel. Sunday night snd Junior and his buds were jaming. The place was rockin, rollin and vountry, the band was enjoying themselves and there was an enthusiastic local crowd on hand. The food and decor...was typical northern Ontario. I was visiting Sturgeon and went to Don's for lunch with friends It has the best homemade grub that I have had in along time Everything is homemade There is a butcher attached to the pub can't get much more fresh than that Their soups...are right out of mom's kitchen good The sandwiches are plenty along with the fries Next time heading that way, will definitely be stopping in
we were in sturgeon if and had read the reviews. it was great! faster friendly service by chantele(? it was late, there was karaokesong, but she made the time to make our order right and the food was delicious. burger and smoked meat. sandwich-super fresh! we were greeted by the employees and mozens and the owner met. will definitely go back!
Our group of 6 visited Don's Pub recently, all meals were excellent, fast service despite the large crowd, friendly waitress.
