I've been here since I was a little kid, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and covered. Take you back to the time with the vibe. The grill is visible so that you can see the cooks prepare your meals. You have so many options for food and even many children options and even serve ice cream as well! The employees were asked to serve their customers and very friendly for me and others. They offer both indoor bar stool style, stand and tables as well as many outdoor seating facilities, so choose a place you like and enjoy their delicious menu items. You need to try this jewel of a restaurant when you're in the area!
This restaurant truly embodies the philosophy of doing one thing well to create a great dining experience. The burgers, referred to as ground round here, are among the best in the 1/3 lb category and priced at just $5. You can customize your burger with a variety of toppings and condiments. I highly recommend skipping the combo meal and opting for a frozen custard instead. The combo might seem tempting at an extra $5, but I found it to be overpriced considering the average portion of 1/2 lb of steak fries and a watery 12 oz fountain drink.
The best burgers everywhere. I've never found a better burger place than this Don's original on Lake Ontario. I always order a cheeseburger on the hard roll with everything except onions. Free pickles on the site are also great. Many times I hear people say they don't live in the Rochester area anymore, but make it a point to go there. Me too. I live 145 miles away, but if I'm within 15 miles, it's a certain stop.
Don's great. I love the place personally. It's my favorite local burger connection. I always get the floor steak food and that's a little over $11. Straw steak, fries and a drink. They offer hard or soft roll and either grilled or from the Char for your hamburger. But... they are also known for their rib eye steak sandwiches. Hadnt been here in years. It did not disappoint. And loved the way the workers interacted just like the good old days and with a smile. . They looked liked they enjoyed their job. Refreshing to see.
