As an out-of-towner, my thoughts are don't let the physical appearance or location fool you and absolutely do not sleep on these donuts. It is dirty and grungy inside but my review is based purely on the product, not the state of the establishment. What I loved about them was filled donuts are generously filled and my chocolate cake donut was perfect texture and not too sweet with great glaze.
Sadly, the store was not clean and they served my sister a cup of ick instead of coffee. Bottom of the pot that sat there all morning. Pretty sure we were overcharged as well. We used to live in the area and couldn 't believe that there was still a donut place there. Did not measure up to any standard we remembered.
If you want to support local, this is how you do it. The owner shows up at 4am to get the ovens going and will chat you up if you come outside of their AM rush. We live close by and stop by as often as we can justify eating cake for breakfast. :

Showed up at 1:30 The door says that they are open till 2:00 p.m. no note or alternate hours. Not sure if they are still open for business.
the load is clean. the donuts are very good. I have one of the best frittiers I've ever had.
Can't go wrong if you enjoy doughnuts and coffee. Also they have fair but decent prices
