my wife and I were on the way to visit my sister and her man on Saturday, they were on a butter tea festival where they taste doo doos tarts and shaved over them. it was from our way to stop...in but what is the damage of a 15 minutes next trip to add to a 12 hours drive. I live now in new jersey and no one bakes down here! When we reached doo doo’s, we were blown away from the sorts, but the kind we wanted that they were not yet out, we had to wait 40 minutes for whisky darts. we bought three dozen tarts in all, as we waited, we were only delighted with the friendly interactions we had with other customers! we even got hugs from a couple when they were gone. but back to the tarts, without a...
Wanting to validate the many claims that Doo Doo's has some of Ontario's best buttertarts, we stopped by to sample some and grab a sandwich for lunch. There were many, many variations of the tarts, but we stayed with plain and pecan, and they were...delicious, although a bit smaller than others we had sampled along the Buttertart Trail. A bakery and cafe, Doo Doo's has more than just buttertarts. We tried some of the fresh baked oatmeal-raisin cookies as well. For lunch we ordered sandwiches egg salad and turkey both were made with thick slices of fresh-baked bread and plenty of stuff between. Delicious and very filling !
the service was good, but teer were even better. we came closer to a weekday, but there was still much for us to go with more than enough. test the pecan, rosin, cheesecake and pumpkin. everyone was a hit! it is out of the way for us, but definitiw the all-round worth, especially now that we know how delicious they are.
Doo Doo's is probably best known for their butter tarts. But their egg salad sandwich on home-made bread is the best I've ever had anywhere EVER. The staff are friendly and the tarts are to die for. The pastry used for the tarts is out of this world and the filling is just the way I like my tarts.
