This place has excellent pizza! They use sourdough and the crust is light and crispy for the round pies. I'm born and raised in NYC so I'm a stickler about the cheese and while I may detect a little provolone, it actually doesn't bother me. This is definitely one of my favorite places in town for pizza now. I really liked their sausage, mushroom, and onion pie. They use good sausage (thicker slices) and the mushrooms they use are different! I think it looked like shiitake but I'm not sure. They were not just round button mushrooms though. Pizza here is phenomenal! The dough is so chewy yet remains a certain level of crunchiness! Slices of pizza are full of toppings and it still holds them well. Each bite gives me a symphony of flavors, melted cheese, fresh cheese, basil, sauce, and dough. Everything works so well.The only thing is that their pizza slices are not premade and heated to serve, but being prepared from scratch. This is a good signal as it means better quality. But I wish to be told at the beginning, since I always order one slice first to see how tasty it goes and then decide if I would order more. If I know even slices are made from scratch, I would order a entire pizza to start with.
After visiting our son at Chatham University we decided to stop for a pizza. They use a sourdough crust that intrigued us and we are very happy we did. The crust was delicious and you would never know it was any different than a regular pizza crust. Of course it had it own unique sourdough properties about that made it better than most regular crust pizzas out there and I would highly recommend. The service was excellent. The young man that waited on us was very friendly and helpful with recommendations of what type of pizza to try. They have a very wide menu and also a great draft beer selection. The restaurant was cozy and very clean. Highly recommend!!!
The pizza was fantastic! I ordered takeout and had some in the car, so I could taste it while it was still fresh and hot. It was delicious even at room temperature and cold, too—LOL! I got the sausage pizza and added sliced garlic, but it took me a while to decide because I hesitated about adding the garlic. In the end, I went for it, but the pizza was quite pricey. Adding the garlic brought my total to over $30! Since I was visiting Pittsburgh, I thought I should give it a try, knowing I might not get the chance again. I've dined at numerous restaurants around the globe, and I've experienced a mix of greatness, mediocrity, and unfortunately, quite a few disappointments—especially since Covid. However, this place stands out with its EXCELLENT pizza, and the salad was fantastic too. In fact, everything on the menu looked appetizing, and the baked goods were absolutely stunning. If you don't pay this place a visit, you're really missing out. Would I return? I CAN'T WAIT!
This is my 2nd place at trying sourdough pizza, and I can now finally see why this place is highly rated. We dined in and had the entire front window to view out of while we waited for our order. The pizza came out hot and fresh and stayed warm whilst consuming the pizza. The staff were all amazing and knowledgeable. If I'm ever in the area and looking for something to bring home, it will be from here .
The service was excellent and highly recommended. I ordered the Peaches Corn pizza, which was baked to perfection; every flavor delighted my palate. It had a sweet initial taste followed by a hint of chili spice that balanced the sweetness beautifully. Be sure to try their high-quality pizza. The salads were fantastic too, and the chocolate croissant was delicious and perfectly baked.
Great pizza (and I don't usually like pizza). The crust has a good chew and is crispy, flavors are good, wonderful cheese quality. I will say the Buffalo pizza was a bit greasy for my preference, but still delicious! The chocolate salt rye cookie was out of this world delicious. The pizza is amazing. The dough/crust is among the best I’ve had! We got a square cut of the specialty chicken parm pizza. We also tried a house salad which was great. Beware of limited seating, there are about 8 or 10 bar stool style seats inside and 2 picnic tables outside, and the seating gets taken up quick. The root beer was also sooooo good.
