Really happy with our first, though I expect not our last visit, to the Drovers Rest. We were following the recommendation of a local resident who said people were raving about the food. We rang ahead to book a table and were encouraged by the helpful information we got about GF options this is a place you can trust to safely offer a range of options. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and given a full run down of the menu. We chose to sit outside on a sunny day. Drinks and food orders were taken quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had: two hotdogs, a jumbo fish finger and chips, and a portion of Venezuelan loaded fries. Everything was delicious. We then ordered a blondie and some ice...
This is a fantastic country pub with great beer and excellent food. They offer a wonderful selection for vegans and vegetarians. The staff is friendly and informative, and they clearly know their stuff, even if their geography skills might give them some leeway regarding Pete from Kent. The service is chatty and courteous, making for a pleasant experience. The owner is a valued supporter of the local economy and farms. I can't recommend this place highly enough; it truly embodies the spirit of a welcoming country pub.
Was staying at the wigwams nearby the pub , only a few hundred yards away and came up for dinner and a few drinks. It's the only pub/restaurant within walking distance of the wigwams. Went to the restaurant for dinner and ooooof the portion sizes are massive. Food was nice and fresh and was under a tenner per main course. Drinks relatively cheap too. The oub has a nice freindly country pub atmosphere and if i was staying nearby wouldnt hesitate to go back again or recommend to others :
Yesterday, I visited the Drivers Rest and was warmly welcomed from the moment I arrived. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very well managed, without being intrusive. The menu is refreshingly unique compared to many other breweries, offering a great selection. The food was beautifully presented, well-cooked, and delicious, with generous portions. The rooms at The Drovers Rest Inn are a testament to classic elegance and attention to detail. My accommodation was tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and provided all the modern amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The food presented to me where top notch and their staffs were top class. The plush bedding and thoughtfully curated furnishings added a touch of luxury to the experience, making me feel right at home
simply, we only had one of the best pub memories we've ever had. their hot dogs cumberland sausages are before place, like broth, and portioning are generous. also the starters “beer food” were breathtaking. our girls described the egg as the “best ever”. I would post more superlative, but I am too full! highly recommended. (The Cask-Ale was great too!
If you have to take a detour and drive an extra half hour for a pint of real ale and a great meal, it's definitely worth it. The food is excellent, and there's a fantastic selection of real ales. The staff are very friendly, making it the kind of pub anyone would love to have in their neighborhood.
