We went there on a beautiful November day after spending a couple of hours visiting the nice village of Erlach . The location of the restaurant is nice being close to the lake and it is easily accessible . The decor inside is sober and in fact a bit dry which does not contribute to a romantic setting . Fish is the specialty and again there is nothing sophisticated in its presentation . Service is fast and professional but not very warm . Prices are average to what we have seen elsewhere in Switzerland . One goes there for the location !
It has a good location close to the Erlach lake recreation area and the path leading to St. Peter's Island (peninsula - it used to be an island before the lake levels dropped). On a nice sunny day, it's a good place to grab a beer and snack on the terrace, but for meals it's just ok. It's able to handle large groups, so that could be a consideration, but for family sized groups there are better choices within a 5 minute walk. I live close by and have been there on numerous occasions, but it is never my choice.
Knuspriger Fisch mit gedämpften Kartoffeln und Tartarsauce. Obwohl das Essen, der Service und die Lage durchaus in Ordnung waren, empfand ich den Preis als eher hoch. Es gibt nur wenige Restaurants, die Fisch aus dem Bielersee direkt am Bielersee anbieten, und in diesen Häusern sind die Preise ebenfalls deutlich höher. Dennoch ist das aufgrund der 100%igen Garantie, dass der Fisch wirklich aus dem Bielersee stammt und nicht etwa von Prodega Biel, durchaus gerechtfertigt.
The location is handy for the boats, the path to St Peter's island and is only a short walk from the village. The terrace is spacious with a big canopy. Service was very friendly, and the food arrived promptly. The meal was good, the price reasonable. A good option if you prefer to be served at table, rather than standing in a queue at a couple of the self-service restaurants nearby. It is neither romantic nor prestigious, for that you need to look elsewhere.

Als meine Tochter den Kellner höflich bat, seine Maske aufzusetzen, als er sich über den Tisch beugte, antwortete er, dies sei auf der Terrasse nicht nötig. Wenn es uns nicht gefalle, hätten wir zu Hause bleiben sollen. Wir waren sprachlos. Der frittierte Fisch war in Ordnung, allerdings mit zu viel Panade. Als wir um Tomatenketchup baten, brachte er uns ein einzelnes Päckchen – für ein Restaurant kaum angemessen! Es gab keine Covid-Nachverfolgung.
Extrem schlechter Service. Für Leitungswasser werden 3,60 CHF berechnet! Ich war zum Nachtisch dort, beide Desserts waren eher schlecht gemacht, eines möglicherweise sogar abgelaufen.
Ich habe durch das Hühnchen eine Lebensmittelvergiftung bekommen!!! Nie wieder dort!!! Der Service war auch sehr schlecht. Obwohl nur wenige Gäste da waren, mussten wir lange warten.
