Let’s start with the positives: the staff and the atmosphere were pretty nice. Now to the rest. The food was fine. I have a theory, that any great restaurant should be able to make an amazing burger. If they don’t, and the rest of the food is good, they shouldn’t have a burger on a menu. Unfortunately, Dudley’s should not have a burger on the menu. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine. But there is absolutely no extra care given to the burger. On my burger the bottom part of the bun was wet and the vegetables tasted like they were cut two days ago. Waiter was rude from the every beginning . We had a 945 reservation . We showed up at 945. We we’re seated and I stayed at the table while the rest of my party went to wash their hands . The waiter came to the table and told me the kitchen was closing and I should order our food and drinks for the people washing their hands . I was appalled . I said I would like to wait for them to wash their hands and look at the menu and the waiter gave me a huge attitude . Then he proceeded to rush us through our meal literally telling us to hurry up and bringing the food out almost all together . we love dudley’s on short. we live in louisville to eat here when we have an event in lexington. we like that it is quite (at least the times we have densed, which is on the earlier side) and that eating is delicious. we had kazman as our waiter twice and he is great. contempt and he knows the menu well. we are there early and the host could take up an earlier seat. good wine selection by the glass as not ridiculous prices.

Walking into the restaurant with its paintings and framed horsing news articles you feel you are walking into racing history. The wainscoting and maroon walls are reminiscent of an English hunt club. Order their famous gold rush cocktail with a bourbon base and you will be off to a great start. a friend and I shared what was considered a 3-course brunch for only $60 (no alcohol, and shared appetizer and dessert, but still this is very reasonable for a great and beautifully presented meal.) it was very quiet, even in the bar, at the end of her brunch time. I'm sure it was much louder, so we were lucky that my friend had traffic problems and we set ourselves around 2.

Our service was really bad. Server would disappear for long periods of time. Food all came out at different times. My dish sat in front of me for 6 minutes before next plate arrived.
