Set in a pretty building in Beaurepaire Village, Duke and Devines has ample parking space and a pretty terrace away from the traffic. The interior has both booths and tables and can seat a fair number of people. Service is friendly (love those kilts), the menu offers some typical pub fare as well as a ramp up on comfort food like cajun -inspired mac'n cheese.. My husband had chicken curry poutine which he really enjoyed. I opted for the beer battered fish and chips, also enjoyable. Prices are reasonable and there is a good selection of beers.
I love the kilts. Beyond that, the food is above average for pub. I have been there a few times but unfortunately portions are not always what they should be. Once, my husband had a beef stew and his plate contained no more than 2 bitesize pieces of meat. Meal-size salads are nowhere big enough. However, other dishes such as chicken curry poutine or salmon tartar are just great.
Sadly the atmosphere is just not so great - you walk in at 5 or 530 and 9 out of 10 times you are told tables are reserved and you must eat fast . Then families with screaming babies come in late. Sometimes you order something and it is not available. It is too bad because the food is good
Had the salmon and my partner had the fried chicken. The salmon was excellent as was the chicken. The staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. Desert was ice cream and blue berry turnover. Also very good. Good imported Irish beer. Returned the following day for lunch. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Appetizers are amazing, try the crab/shrimp dip! Burgers are delicious & the fish tacos! They have healthy beer, affordable drinks and amazing desserts!
The food was not good. We have come when it just opened and it was much better at the beginning. Also some of the beers are discontinued.
I really enjoyed the seared tuna here, so much so that my constant comments probably annoyed the people who I was dining with.
