Sydney has gone more than a bit over the top for breakfast. The result is seemingly endless cafes offering increasingly interesting options that move away from the multiplicities of eggs, bacon and toast. Randwick is a large, but often overlooked suburb of bustling Sydney. But it is where I live and I am always on the lookout for an interesting place to have a decent breakfast. Thanks to a convenient voucher, I was introduced to Duke's Lounge and wasn't disappointed. This cafe has had a revamp and looks nice from the outside but it's no good for food. Four of us came here for brunch as unfortunately across the road was full. We ordered our coffees and breakfast, the coffees came out within 10 minutes and we well and truly finished them by the time food came out. First meal didn't come til about 30-40mins after we had ordered and then wasn't even hot, next meal came another 15mins later, then the last two came about another 10-15mins after that. The cafe was not by any means busy but the staff seemed to be flustered and rushed off their feet. Im so angry.....that this is not my local cafe, as unfortunately i live in Perth. The food is simply amazing. Fresh, so so so tasty, absolutely lovlely service and atmosphere in the cafe, not to mention the prices, as being some of the best around. The menu has a perfect mix of classic and contemporary, something for everybody really. This place is just everything ive ever wanted from a breakfast place and it makes me so sad it is not my local. Thankyou to the staff and chef at Dukes, for making our meal and experience so lovely, if im back in sydney again, im getting an apartment as close as i can to your cafe.
Quite a large cafe for Randwick standards with pleasant, very clean interior and quite a few tables. Menu is quite extensive. Went there for breakfast, quite a few choices. Coffee was excellent, but long wait for food let the place down. Barrister was very friendly and quite apologetic.

I enjoyed a lovely breakfast with my friend at Duke's Lounge this morning. Had a great value Groupon voucher and the staff were only too happy to serve us. I had the Moroccan breakfast and my friend had the eggs benedict with mushrooms. We also had coffee each. Very nice and tasty!
Popped in on a quiet weekday for a light lunch. The food was delicious with a nice variety on the menu and the coffee was good too! Would head back for breakfast or lunch.

Cute little cafe in the lovely neighborhood Randwick. Kind staff, nice decoration, okay coffee and good food. May come back for takeaway coffee.
Food is priced consistently other cafes in the areaQuality isn't quite at the level of other cafes in the area, though.
