We stayed at the Domaine de Tortiniere in nearby Veigne. Disappointed by a 60euro breakfast for a family of 4 the day before, we strolled into Montbazon looking for an alternative. We stumbled on Dutrion Giles in the main square of this cute little town and we're thrilled to have found this Boulangerie. The family agreed this was our favorite pastry shop in our week long tour of France (we made a point of visiting some of the most acclaimed patisseries in Paris). My son, a self declared expert on Chausson aux Pommes, declared this version the best he has had. Real croissants with butter, the same for the pain au chocolat. The retrodor baguette should be classified as a pastry because you can eat it on its own. The crème brûlée-style flan is killer. The puff pastry brioche . And the new pastries for the weekend (fresh fruit cream puff pastry) well I'm going to look for some for my daughter's happiness on her birthday. Very friendly, smiling and quick to humor team. Craftsmanship, real, which is so lacking in Guès de Veigné.
Pâtisserie et service de qualité toujours avec le sourire, l autre vendeuse la plus âgée un peu trop pipelette il ne faut pas être trop pressé !!! Heureusement 2 à servir ! Mais nous sommes à la retraite donc le temps mais se n'est pas le cas de tout le monde ! Bon courage à l autre vendeuse et merci de nous avoir servie rapidement.
Patisserie made a perfect finish of the day after visiting Montbazon castle. Desserts looked nice and tasted very good. The small downside was limited coffee choice - they only had basic Nespresso machine.
