This was probably the closest one could get to authentic Italian food short of going to Italy! Homemade sauce definitely captured the taste of an Italian cafe with the sweet cannolis serving as a sweet finish to the meal. The staff was attentive without being overbearing and the owner himself was happy to describe specials and have a random conversation with guests. Highly recommend!
The short rib lasagna was exceptional, and the fennel salad was delightful. The clams were just alright. Every item on the menu was enticing, making it difficult to decide, so I’ll definitely need to return for more! The tables are a bit too close together, so it’s not the best spot for private conversations. However, the service was excellent.
We had a wonderful dinner during the week. Everything was fantastic—from the food and drinks to the wine and atmosphere. The service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind. I had my first meal here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food, particularly the eggplant parmigiana, was excellent, and the service was great too. Although the staff was a bit stretched, it was clear that they were making a strong effort to manage, which I really appreciated. I will definitely return!
Bad experience. Not worth the price. We accidentally ordered two very similar dishes （in the pictures below) but the server didn't point it out or suggest us to order another kind of dish. And the noodles sticked together so I don't think they are freshly made.
D 'Vino is by far the best Italian food in Madison. It 's a knock-your-socks-off, special occasion or just treat yourself, favorite restaurant kind of place. You are missing out if you 've never had their sauce.
