My 84-year-old aunt took us to this place during my first visit to Cleveland. After driving through an area filled with frozen custard shops, I knew I had to try some. Although the flavor selection was limited, they change it daily, and the frozen custard was absolutely fantastic. A big thanks to my aunt for the recommendation! The staff at the counter were friendly, patient, and extremely helpful—they definitely deserve a raise. Seriously, it's frozen custard—what's not to love? Also, the chocolate actually tastes like chocolate, unlike those ice cream trucks in NYC, where the chocolate just looks brown and tastes... well, bland.
This restaurant is a must-visit if you're in the area. The frozen custard is fantastic but melts quickly, so be ready if you order a large cone. The ice cream cookies are amazing—I'd definitely recommend the mint flavor. Vanilla and chocolate are classic choices, and you can also try the seasonal pumpkin flavor. Overall, the place has a wonderful old-school vibe and is perfect for enjoying a treat on one of the benches on a hot summer evening. The staff worked efficiently; we waited about three minutes before someone at the register acknowledged us, but after that, it took just ten seconds to receive our desserts!
Wow, I can't believe I waited so long to visit this place! The custard is amazingly rich, delicious, and very reasonably priced! Now that I know it's nearby, I need to be careful not to indulge too much! I ordered a double scoop with two of their special flavors of the day: lemon chiffon and peanut butter chocolate chip. I'm a big fan of lemon, so I really loved the lemon chiffon. The chocolate chip pieces in the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor were large and made with high-quality chocolate. The double scoop cost me about $3.50.
The drinks we ordered were like soup in a cup; they were all melted by the time we received them. The Halloween-themed drink was mostly just whipped cream for the large size. I’ve discovered my new favorite drink: the vegan raspberry cordial made with oat milk. Just a heads up, there’s a 50-cent fee for any vegan item. I also tried the Hawaiian Delight Concrete, which was loaded with strawberries, bananas, and coconut—truly refreshing!
I brought a half gallon of custard after East coast came to my job some time this past August. I tried some custard and was hooked, I'll be coming back soon.
There are always long lines whenever we visit this place, but the custard is so delicious that no one seems to mind waiting.
